Post Grodner takeover I don't think an alliance like this could ever form again with the amount of production manipulation and vet returns / HG's being obsessed with their outside image. But seeing an alliance so natural occur was amazing, and an alliance occur between the two most hated houseguests in the house and the public at the time, and they joined together despite hating each other so they would both have a shot of the money. Therefore alligning with the person you think you can beat at such an early stage.
