I hope the maximum amount of housemates this year is 16.
Maybe 14 of them enter on launch night and 2 after the first eviction.
CBB19 and BB18 have both shown to have way too many housemates and there should be less for this upcoming series.
The more housemates means the more evictions, resulting in many backdoor evictions.
Also, late entries don't always get a VT so we can't already get the anticipation element of what they will be like in the house and hearing what they think about going in and how they will live with others.
I guess for civilian BB there could be more to mix up the 8-9 week long show but for celebrity, there should be a maximum of 16.
The thing is that the more housemates means the less airtime for us to see each housemate.
Anyone agree there shouldn't be more than 16?

CBB should have 14 HMs
And a max of 16 if 2 walk or are ejected
18+ HMs for 4 weeks is not ok

I think they're should be more tbh, putting people half way in through the series in pointless I mean in BB18, there was no need to have Sam, Simone, Sue and Andrew in there was pointless on BB part.
Basing it off the last previous January series, which had a total of 18 housemates, I think they're might be possibly 19, considering the number of housemates for the celeb series are going up

I felt they were trying too hard to make All Stars and new Stars a success

For me, it depends what the lineup is like. If it’s a weak one, then the more housemates the better

18 was way too many. 12-14 should be the CBB limit, a few reasons why:
It's only 4 weeks, and that is NOT enough time to get to know 18 people.
Less housemates means more time to get to know each one, too many and the editing is just choppy and it's difficult for real storyline to run.
CBB has evictions 2 a week which is already a lot, never mind adding to that. You can't get to know anyone again, because so many just disappear.
Less celebrities means they can spend more on the ones they have, which IMO it's better having big celebs rather than loads of celebs
