I counted 3 that I had really heard of, the rest are reality show non celebrities.......compared to the early series it is so poor.

I'd count Sarah, Shaun, Amelia, Brandi, Derek, Helen and Paul as actual celebrities.

All of them could be classed as 'actual celebs' depending on what TV shows you watch and how engaged you are with pop culture

Some of them are reality legends though. Tbh I don't actually remember Amelia from X factor, I just know the name and know her as a singer.

Every series we get the same thread. It's not about their celebrity status some of the least known have been the most entertaining.

well, the title is a bit of a give away celebrity big brother is its title

People could argue all day about whether someone is a celeb, whether they are famous enough to warrant that description, that's how the producers can get away with it

The fact there are no Loose Women 'stars' in there is enough for me tbh

Just because YOU haven't heard of them doesn't mean they're not celebrities. They're known in their own right for the TV show they're from or their background. Just because I don't watch Mob Wives or know Marissa doesn't mean I think she's not a celebrity haha

The first CBB had Eubanks, Feltz, Turner, Duffy, Dee and Sweeney.....all well known at the time....series 2 very much the same, maybe interest has dwindled or so many have experienced negativity from CBB that the real stars no longer want to go in and we are scouring the USA for their reality non celebs

Yes, because being a mobster's wife makes you a celeb.

Helen's a well-known actress
Shaun's a well-known actor
Derek's relatively well-known
Sarah's from the biggest girlband of the past 15 years
Sandi's from a very popular TV show
Amelia finished 3rd on the X Factor and had a couple of Top 40 hits
Paul was famous...a while ago

The "why are they famous?" ones really are Sam, Karthik, Chad, Jordan, Jemma, Marissa, Brandi and Trisha. But then YouTube has bigger outreach than most other platforms today so I wouldn't consider Trisha in that bracket.

They're all technically celebrities. Just some of them more so than others.

Have you not watched the show since CBB2 then? If you have then surely you'd know by now not to expect any A listers.

Well it really depends on what tv shows and stuff you watch I guess  if you've watched the show they are known for then they will be famous to you...

celebrity just isnt a hard and fast term like it used to be. In the days when you could only see a film at the cinema or the only way to hear a band was buy the record or go to the show, then celeb status was easily defined. Now with so many media outlets, and so many variations on "popular" media its not possible to define celebrity in the same context.

If even 1 person watching thinks a person is a celeb, then they are

No TOWIE either... at the moment. I know there's the MIC guy, but he actually seems nice so far. I'm dreading a Bobby Norris late entry - time to switch off if he does come in.

If you take a celeb as someone who has an actual talent and is on TV/internet/film/radio

Sean for his acting
Helen for her acting

the rest no, Sarah was in the right place at the right time but she has no talent as such

The only ones I have really heard of from TV are, Helen, Shaun, Derek, Sarah, and Paul. Helen and Shaun being the most well known/famous of those five to me.
