The last series of Can't Pay, We'll Take It Away which aired from march to June this year had a a series low 1.38 million viewers to a series high 2.10 million viewer.

The highest rated episode it ever had was 2.14 million viewers.

I also think On Benefits gets similar viewers but cant find ratings for that anymore

Why do people come on to a BB forum to keep saying it's doing crap in the ratings?

Because BB is doing crap in the ratings?

What do you want people to do, pretend it's getting 20m viewers?

Yeah but those shows air once a week. Big Brother gets consistently better than average ratings every night of the week and is on for months.

Saying that, it is still very sad to have to defend ratings lower than Can't Pay, We'll Take It Away :conf2:

My point is people think they rely on BB ratings but they dont they have history with some hit programmes mostly documentaries they just struggle getting the balanc of success and flops

Ok but there's no point in making "big brother has crap ratings" threads like this when a ratings thread already exists. Fair enough if it gets like the lowest ratings ever or something then make a thread about it but this thread is just mundane and stating the bloody obvious. (no offence)

No, just talk about the show.

I don't necessarily disagree with that, I was merely refuting the idea that people are 'coming on a BB forum' to 'keep saying it's doing crap in the ratings', implying that fans of the show should somehow be embellishing the figures and pretending they're not awful

The BB final was the 9th most watched TV show on Channel 5 last week. No, it's not the most watched show on there (well CBB actually is) but for over 50 hours of TV each summer (plus 40 hours BOTS) it is a missive part of C5 that would be almost impossible to fill with similar consistent ratings.

Well funnily enough there won't be a show if the ratings continue the way they are.

You're on a Big Brother/television forum. People will discuss ratings. They have done for years before you were a member, and will no doubt continue to after you leave. Some people find them interesting, and many people realise their importance for the long (or indeed short) term future of the show. They have and will be discussed when they are good, and when they are bad. People are not specifically coming onto this forum to discuss the 'crap ratings' as you implied.

Fair enough then, as Greg says, keep it to the one thread instead of a load of them because it just shouts negativity to me.

Yeah I don't disagree with that but you have to remember that the show is in a pretty negative state, so it's understandable that fans of the show are going to point that out and be critical. I think the large majority of it comes from a good place, one of wanting it to the best it can be and frustration at what it's become. It may be negative but there's no point pretending everything is fantastic when it's not.

As has been pointed out by mod staff very recently, its not for members to dictate the number of threads allowed on particular topics

Can't pay, we'll take it away is pretty much the only regular show in the 9pm/10pm slots that outperforms BB, the other programs that beat it tend to be one off shows or air earlier in the evening. So BB is still very important for their ratings, the only worry is that I presume it's very expensive to produce compared to other shows so unless it performs significantly better then they might start to wonder if it's worth it
