Country star Glen Campbell dies at 81
Rhinestone Cowboy singer Glen Campbell has died at the age of 81 after "a long and courageous battle" with Alzheimer's disease, his family said.
"It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather," their statement said.
The legendary guitarist announced his Alzheimer's diagnosis in 2011.
A self-taught prodigy, he rose from an impoverished childhood in Arkansas to sell 45 million records.

We all watched it LT , what a terrible disease it is to rob a man with so much talent of every last thing he had, I know he was 81 and fought it well but still seems wrong that all that talent is now wasted , but he has left us with some fabulous music.
Glenn.

For me an all time great.
I love his voice and how he interpreted songs.
'Where's the Playground Suzie' is probably my favourite of his but it is one song among many great gems he recorded.
One of those voices which no matter what he was singing, the voice prompted you to listen,it did me anyway.
Really sad news this and how bravely he tried to take on this horrible condition alzheimers.
Many timeless songs he has left the World with thankfully.
R.I.P.

This is so sad because my Mother used to play his records quite a lot, so like LT, I've been brought up on his music. I even have my mum's old records tucked away in the attic.

He's been laid to rest already,in a quiet cemetary near where he was born.that was a quick burial.
