Yes Laura, I'm dreading it!!:cloud:
May & June is usually the time and I shall be sneezing like mad and eyes watering and all the rest of it.
I always leave it till I'm sneezing like mad and then I buy the medication.

I have a head cold, and everyone keeps asking me if I have hay-fever. I've never had it before, so I doubt I ever will get it.
Am I right in thinking that people who suffer from it have done since childhood?

I sneeze occasionally and get an itchy nose, and I didn't think anything of it until I realised not too long ago it was hayfever! Luckily *touchwood* I don't get it really badly though, so it's all good - I can enjoy the summer.

ive never suffered from hayfever
but ive seen people with it and it doesent look very nice :puzzled:
lol
Yeah I used to get it quite severely, but in recent years its worn off, probably due to the fact that we have no carpets in our house anymore, just floorboards cos carpets store the pollen.
My Dad also used to suffer really bad as well and his got better when mine did so that must've been the answer.
I still sneeze and get an itchy throat occasionally but I take tablets for that which clears it up. The best ones I ever took were ones beginning with 'Z' can't remember the exact name but they worked a treat, shame they don't make them anymore.

I think I must have had it a bit recently, either that or it was a cold. I've got bad asthma as well and I'm really suffering with that at the moment, the other night I ended up getting out of breath due to a bad chest and a blocked nose.
Those pills I've been taking for hayfever the past few days have worked wonders! No itchy throat, runny nose, headache or anything!
BAAAAH! Rechid hayfever! Gonna get me some Piriton (other brands of hayfever tablet are available!)

Ahh no not Pyriton. I used to take that stuff when I was younger and it made me so drowzy and ill.
Go to your GP and get a prescription if I were you.

God I was sneezing earlier, and my asthma's still playing up a little. I'm at a stage with the asthma at the moment where I'll be alright for a few days and then I'll be all wheezy - if people can hear the wheezing (as one or two have lately) then I know how bad things are.

My eyes feel at the moment like someone has suctioned out all of their fluid and added itching powder as a subsitute. Ouchy.

Just found out today that after 32 years of not having it I probably have now. Got drenched over the weekend so wasnt surprised when I started sneezing my head off today when out walking in the highlands, was still bad as soon as I got home. Friend of mine gave me a couple of hayfeaver tablets which I took (under protest) and within 30mins Im almost completely over it.
For anyone interested they are from Boots - Hayfever & allergy relief (Cetirizine Hydrochloride) and she says she got them when looking for ones that dont cause any drowzyness. Usually cant stand taking tablets but they really helped, worth a try if what your using isnt working well, (oh and she found she developed hayfever at about 17 ).

It is horrible:yuk: and people who don't suffer from it are so lucky. But there are so many different strains of Hayfever.
Some people cannot leave the house.

I heard Piriton was good but apprently it may cause drowiness and with studying 8/9 hours a day I can't afford to be drowsy atm
Mine's not been too bad this year, just a few days of sniffles. The worst part is when your eyes start to itch and sting.
Piriton:love:
But ugh, I've gradually come to accept that I've got hayfever and it's not just a cold in the middle of summer every year

I've got it a bit now, well a runny nose and I know it's not a cold cos I've had it nearly a week and have no other cold symptoms. I've also been wheezy with my asthma - I'll see if I can get something for it and also make sure I have my inhaler to hand if I get any worse.

Omg if there's anything I hate with serious passion it's hayfever!! I get it sooooooo soooooo sooooooooooo bad!!! Today my eyes swelled up so much I couldn't see even with eye drops and my nose was literally a tap lol!
It will get worse i think the peak for hayfever tends to be July/August the hottest part of the year.
I have to take extra strong tablets for it, but they work!
I heard from my mum that there is am injection you can take to stop it, but it takes a year to start working as it has to teach your white cells how to defend, or something like that.

i wouldn't mind waiting a year for it to set in... although its sounds quite funny to teach our blood cells :laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:

I don't have Hayfever but my Asthma tends to get worse around this time of year. Same with Winter. It's the change in the weather.
I've been getting sneezing attacks during the night lately its awful, my nose runs constantly and I get a really itchy throat. It's been so bad this year so far.
I'm on these tablets from Boots pharmacy at the moment, I haven't been taking them that regularly though, they aren't as good as the ones I used to have.
