View Full Version : Trump say's Fire and Fury if N.Korea Destroys a USA BASE near them

North Korea is reportedly weighing missile strikes on Guam, a warning that comes hours after President Trump vowed “fire, fury and frankly power” against Pyongyang should it threaten the United States.

Reuters, citing state media, reported that a military spokesman said it would conduct the strikes should the United States provoke North Korea.

Trump earlier Tuesday urged Pyongyang not to make “any more threats” against the U.S.

“He has been very threatening beyond a normal state, and as I said they will be met with fire, fury and frankly power, the likes of which this world has never seen before,” Trump said in Bedminster, New Jersey.
North Korea has in the past threatened the United States and vowed to turn its neighbor, South Korea, into "a sea of fire."

The latest threat also comes one day after North Korea’s foreign minister reportedly said the nation would use nuclear weapons on the U.S. should it aggravate a response from Pyongyang.

Officials in the Trump administration have recently been talking tough on North Korea, with some suggesting their patience is wearing thing.

North Korea last month conducted two intercontinental ballistic missile tests and has launched multiple missile tests this year.

I know they always threaten it, but after Trump's comments, I feel as though this isn't an empty threat.

Aaaah the world is so scary. I think if they did that, North Korea would be flattened in a few mins tho so hopefully they'll see sense and not do anything

Empty threats, they don't have the funds to launch a missile that can get out of the Peninsula, never mind managing to get a nuke to the US. Even if they did, it would ultimately be suicidal.

NK is all bark and no bite when it comes to International matters.

Such a pitiful little country and such a tiresome subject. The bravado that rears up once a year would be laughable if it wasn't so alarming and dangerous. He and their dictatorship should've been wiped out years ago.

they have to back him up otherwise they would get killed. I read a story about a girl who escaped from north korea to south korea and she said a woman was killed in front of her family just because she watched a hollywood film.

I saw that video a while ago. It was horrible.

It astounds me that a country like North Korea exists in this world.

Trump probably needs a war or some kind of incident to distract from the scandal and chaos of his own administration. Not surprised he was stupid enough to declare 'Fire and Fury' when asked a simple question by a journalist. Even someone as evil as Dick Cheney had a bit more discretion when answering off the cuff questions. The signing was about an Opioid crisis so why the hell is he declaring such power against Korea at a meeting that has nothing to do with North Korea? Surprised he hasnt doubled down on twitter.

Wasn't this type of war mongering the reason why so many didn't want HRC? Trump is definitely stupid enough to go to war, and it would detract from the failings of his administration, so lets hope someone can talk him out of it

I don't blame trump for shaking the rhetoric up a bit when nothing else seems to have an effect on the NK leadership.

There isn't a US president that wouldnt flatten NK if they attempted to nuke them so why not let them know.

I'm sure the people of Guam (and the American Servicemen who are based there) will be re-assured by that..........NOT!!!!

And as for America 'beating' North Korea in a nuclear war............just google Mutually Assured Destruction.

The only reason Trump started again with his idiotic threats this week is because he knew the news was coming about the FBI raiding his ex Campaign Manager's home in a dawn raid to seize financial documents (and more).
When dictators are up against the ropes the frequently try to start wars as a distraction.

Trump's done! Just a matter of time now before the moron and the majority of his monkey's are ousted.

Well, NK itself doesn't have the nuclear capability to be considered a M.A.D nation - they don't have that many weapons, and by all accounts so far, they don't have any at all that could successfully hit the continental United States. Maybe one, if they scored a luckly hit, which would of course be horrendous but far from M.A.D. It is however far more likely that they wouldn't even manage a successful launch.

M.A.D only comes into effect in this scenario if China or Russia were to get involved on NK's behalf... with Russia-NK relations being lukewarm at best and China-NK relations descending into frustration for quite a few years now, and China enjoying its economic relationship with the west probably far more than it values NK as an "ally".

Without outside involvement, the US could wipe NK off the map without much if any meaningful damage. Physical damage, anyway. The diplomatic implications of nuking the **** out of a population of innocent people under an oppressive dictatorship would be huge.

The aggression is worrying and I'd like to believe NK aren't that crazy but their language has been very threatening this year so who knows. They may not have the capability now but they are clearly seeking it.

I wouldn't be very surprised if the regime falls through some sort of coup in the not too distant future. The other options seem to be running out and even China who were thought to hold the leash don't seem to have much influence.

North Korea is falling apart following decades of under-investment in infrastructure while more money is diverted to the military. They make virtually nothing and most of their exports are minerals, metal and fish, almost 70% of which goes straight into China. If they launched a nuclear strike on the USA it would be would be suicide. The weapon would be intercepted and North Korea, should they not capitulate immediately, would most likely be bombed into something resembling a snooker table, only concrete coloured.

The only way NK could win against the USA is if it were to wipe it out completely and all of its allies, and they would need to achieve all that within a window of a couple of minutes of their first strike. Anything else and they will get wiped off the face of the planet. I know who my money is on.

NK is not capable of MAD(mutually assured destruction) The US could flatten NK in 1 day, NK would be lucky to kill more than 20,000 Americans. There is no MAD when it comes to NK.

These things take a lot of time. The only vaguely similar situation (which really pales in significance compared to Trump's criminally treasonous activities) was Watergate and that took nearly two years to come to a head.
Mueller now has two Grand Jurys in two seperate districts working on this case. People don't get to that stage without significant evidence that obviously justifies assembling the team that Mueller has so far.

And now, with the FBI going as far as conducting a dawn raid on Manafort's home, things are really gathering pace.

Nobody lies as much as Trump constantly does if they have nothing to hide and are innocent. The more he realizes just how screwed he is the more of his own people he is turning on and the more they try to distance themselves from Trump in an attempt not to get caught up in the inevitable indictements that will come.
Be patient. It's going to happen.

M.A.D wouldn't come into play with NK unless China got involved.I'm unsure if they would.I think it's possible since NK is so close to their border and they may see it as reckless. If the US was the aggressor rather than acting in retaliation then i think China could get involved.
War with China would be quite worrying.China has a missile which can take out satellites. They took out one of their own weather satellites a few years back as a display of power. With enough of these missiles they could wipe out US GPS systems which could almost cripple modern US weapons capabilities.
They'd be back to old school radar etc and many missiles with satellite guidance would no longer be operational.

We don't need to worry about nuclear war any time soon. The only thing which has escalated is the rhetoric, from Trump and especially from the media. Action hasn't escalated, and NK know that if they even try to attack the US, they'll be finished. Even China has said they won't help NK.

Hmm, that's not true. China has announced it will not support or defend NK if NK makes the first strike but will retaliate against the U.S if the U.S makes the first strike.

Making threats to NK is like wagging the dragons tail and Trumps been doing a lot of that lately. Trumps words while ostensibly directed to NK are, in reality, directed at China... NK is merely the proxy puppet for China. If Trump does make a first strike on NK, let’s see how long it takes for China and possibly Russia to unleash Armageddon and the four horses of the Apocalypse on the U.S

Oh Nicky!

What about all those innocent North Korean citizens ?

The only reason Trump has even stirred up this dangerous situation again this week is to distract from the rapidly worsening situation he's in now that his ex campaign manager has had his home raided by FBI agents.
It happened on the 26th of July and Trump new it would be reported
sometime this week. The fact that he's willing to put so many people in danger purely to serve his own selfish interests sums up this megalomaniac's repugnant agenda.
Several key locations in the US (including the Bedminster golf club where Trump is currently residing) were buzzed by a fly-past by Russian military jets this week too.
Trump also 'thanked' Putin for removing US diplomats from Russia this week saying that it would mean that they's save money because those diplomats would no longer be on the US payroll. Yet another instance of Trump not knowing how things work. The diplomats will still be receiving pay but will be doing so back in the US instead of for doing their jobs in Russia. He really is an ignorant man.

Agree. The raid on Manaforts house shows an intensifying of the investigation and that the investigation didnt trust Manafort to turn over documents. Curiously the raid happened the same morning Trump tweeted his transgender ban. I wonder if one had anything to do with the other.
