Bollywood hottie Shilpa Shetty has reportedly beaten the likes of Lindsay Lohan and Aishwarya Rai on web search.
The bad press that Shilpa’s 'kiss-episode' with Hollywood star Richard Gere generated has only made the Bollywood hottie a force to reckon with on the international marquee.
Shilpa has beaten international celebrities like Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie, Eva Longoria, and back home even Ash, to become the uncrowned queen of the cyber universe.
As of today, Shilpa is the number one actor on leading international search engine – Yahoo – while she ranks number two in the overall search, second only to American Idol.
On the IMDB website, Shilpa is at number 21, having moved up 23,261 per cent within a week.
While Shilpa was unavailable for comment, her spokesperson and publicist Dale Bhagwagar said, "It's thrilling to know she's leading on the web search the world over. Shilpa is not very net savvy, but ever since she opened an e-mail ID (shilpashettyonline@gmail.com) two months ago, she has been flooded with millions of fan mail."
This news ought to cheer Shilpa whose public display of affection with Gere during an AIDS awareness rally didn't go down well with many and led to protests with posters of the Big Brother winner and the American actor being burned across the country.
India has reason to be proud of Shilpa once again.
