Shaun and Helen are just going through the motions for their money, now I dont blame them for that, but its not fun to watch

Derek may be trying to do his 'physic crap' but he does not do it well, and if we must have a pretend psychic in there, why oh why couldnt it be Patrick Jane aka The Mentalist, as he is sooooo hot

They may be entertaining but we're just not seeing it - BUT we've got to go from what we're being shown and they're all pretty horrific housemates. I had such high hopes for Helen and Shaun so I'm particularly gutted about those two.

I was expecting to see them chatting and telling some good celeb stories, Shaun was in Extras with Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, along with lots of very famous star guests, and even his years on Eastenders may have been mildly interesting

I think Helen would have some good stories to tell but its just not happening, or if it is, we are not seeing any of it

They are just boring me to tears

The thing is they probably are having these normal conversations but we don't get to see them because they are seen as 'boring'....it's a shame because we don't see much 'normal' conversation and they must have them to get to know each other. We see them briefly on LF...they should really spread the load because it's not fair on the others.

Come to think of it all 3 of them only seem to feature when they are giving 'parental' comfort to soothe psychosis of younger members. Maybe it is just the fee...they definitely don't seem to be bringing anything compelling.

I disagree with the BIB, no matter what you thought of Karthik he definitely brought stuff to the series.

They're super irrelevant and mostly boring. I find some slight entertainment in Shaun though but he isn't as good as I originally expected on the launch night.

Maybe he actually did do a good job with his task because he kinda did have a different (nervous in an amusing way) character that night.

The problem with Ch5 is it's all arguments and possible Showmances, if a Housemate is doing anything else then they're not necessary to the show in their view.

No TV Show can survive just off two different styles of storytelling as that's essentially what the highlights are for BB, it's basically been turned into EastEnders where it's just arguments and romances in every series. I'm really not feeling like the show is made for me anymore but instead for people that want to watch a really bad and chavy version of EastEnders.

I normally would completely disagree with this, but I can kind of see your point as the show does feel like it's forcing us to support one of Sarah, Paul, or Jemma as they're the "characters" instead of letting us choose who are the characters which might be those 3 which as you've pointed out do seem to have a good sense of humour when they do get shown. I mean Helen must be funny if she's a Comedian surely?:laugh:

I'm not mad about them chasing storylines but there's just no alternative, and it fosters this annual "well everyone else is boring" mentality among the sheep and it's exhausting. I get that it's a TV show and you should keep entertainment there but I just value random conversations, jokes and kind people over gobby trash.

I agree with you for the most part, the reason why Ch4's BB was so much more popular is it had all of the stuff that me and you both want on top of the gobby trash at the same time.

The show needs people to takeover that actually care about the programme because at the moment all we seem to have in charge is people that like the competition element of Big Brother, but want to also make it like some sort of Interactive Drama from the Video Game world where who you vote out will change the outcome of the story. I know that it's an OTT comparison because it's different entertainment platforms, but it does feel like BB isn't BB anymore but instead TOWIE/LI.

I am not sure they could show stuff...I mean if the gossip was 'too juicy' I think BB would have to get permission to show it, else they could get sued...they surely at the very least would have to find out if its actually true or made up. I think thats how it works. Which is why I think casting exs hoping they will 'spill the beans' and stuff is pretty stupid

But yes. They have been pretty useless so far. As has Amelia...who nearly has a shownamce thing going but thats all she has brought which isn't encouraging :shrug:

We are manipulated in every decision we make these days and the edit is designed for the producers, not us so I wouldn't say my decisions are correct when it comes to big brother, but we can only go from what we see, I assume that's why they stopped the 24hr live feed, they can't control the results that way
