What’s your worst series and why girls x

BB16, because;
-The worst twist in Big Brother history happens on Day 18 which completely ruins the flow of the series and puts an end to what where actually a really good first 2 weeks.
-Marc was in the series.
-The "BB Legends" come in and completely overtake the series, making the original cast background characters for 2 weeks (even worse is the fact that they were originally only meant to be there for 1 week but the producers extended it so they could put Aisleyne in).
-Once Helen/Nikki leave the following week is basically just Marc vs Aisleyne every day over and over again.
-There were four rounds of nominations total. 2 of those were face-to-face, 1 was for a fake eviction, and another was reversed.
-The nomination twists were somehow worse than BB15's which stupid stuff like Nominations tag and having to run to a button the fastest to nominate...
-It was the 6th series in 2 years to have a fake eviction, which made the fake eviction completely pointless since everyone knew it was fake because of how often the twist was used.
-The male cast was one of the worst ever. The best male was Simon which really says something about the quality.
-The series basically reset 3 times (Post 4in4out, legends week, post-Marc) which meant there were hardly any consistent or interesting storylines.
-The trend of ejections for attention started here.
-The twist at the final double was one of the worst ever and completely unfair to whoever was evicted, didn't help that it happened to be one of the better ones left.
There's probably more things but it's 1am and I wrote this all on the spot and from memory so

BB12
- it was everything I was dreading would happen to the format when it switched to CH5 and it's the only series I have had to give up on.

BB16, the 4in 4out twist was dreadful and even though I liked Helen, Nikki and Ais coming back, made the regulars background characters for a few weeks. Also, Jack was in the series.

BB16 was an awful series objectively and was evevrything wrong with BB today, plus it had an awful cast...BUT based on highlight shows I did find it entertaining quite often, especially when the legends returned, and I liked money week. Like, I probably found the latter half of BB16 more entertaining than the latter half of BB15 but I will always put BB16 lower because it was such a terrible series. But based on pure cheap entertainment, there have been worse.

Yeah this. I can still think of like 2 or 3 worse series than BB16 (and that's only thinking about the civilian version :hehe: )

16 had definite potential and the launch cast shouldn't have been tampered with. I liked Sam Kay and Marc had his moments but if he'd been evicted early on it would've been much better.
Replace Joel and Cristian with Marc and Harry/Sam in the launch night cast, let it play out naturally, and don't evict Showbiz on Night 1, and it would've been lovely.

I think 16 is worse than 12 because the series had virtually nothing going for it at all and pretty much sums up how run down the show has become in recent years. The cast was pretty bland in hindsight, the production was even more of a shambles than it was the year prior and it just didn't feel like Big Brother at all. Honestly, all BB12 needed was a more diverse cast and it would've been a pretty decent series. BB13 got it right, even with the hideous editing.

I would have said BB4 before BB16 happened, but the week or so we had Lisa Jeynes lifts it slightly above imo

All of this. Except I didn't even enjoy the first couple of weeks tbh, and I'd add Simon's launch night eviction to the list of things that were awful. Not because it was Simon but just the twist itself whoever it'd been, the randomness of it, the fact that the voters weren't told that the housemates they were voting for might be evicted - just that something bad would happen to them (iirc?), a real low point in the whole BB franchise and to start the series off that way was an awful idea... just for the novelty of being able to say they were doing something that had never been done before, rather than because it was something that would actually benefit the series, just terrible production. At least with BB4 production made some good decisions (even if it was still a bad series because of the overall cast and eviction order).

Well I liked the BB4 house...but, overall I think casting was terrible except for Anouska, Jon, Lisa and Tania (maybe). Also it was very gimmicky. Everything from the Double Eviction to Cam's trip to Africa set the stepping stones for the BB we know today, so I feel just a bit thankful for that series, but still my worse. The bomb scare, however, I think was not a set-up btw
Unpopular Opinion:
I actually enjoyed BB16...

I loved BB4  No joke, i think it's one of the more underrated shows. The Winner was crap, and yeah the last week or two wasn't great but it was the last time we had normal people in the house who didn't act OTT or went in to get Glamour model shoots or fake romances. It's not great but it's nowhere as bad as some people make out.
Losing Anouska early was a disaster she had so much potential but she did go in the first night way to OTT and didn't play it safe. I don't think she would have won it but i think she could have bought a little bit of fun and upheaval to the house. Ray i think was a underrated BB housemate and was one of the few that had a bit of fun. Losing Jon and Fred early was a massive hit to BB4, even the producers knew it when they threw Jon in again near the end. The Wrong housemate in Cameron went to the South African house. But the South African housemate did bring a bit of spike to the house, his moment with Tania as probably the highlight of the show

I would like to know where you watched BB4! The cast selection lacked diversity...and I found Ray as an overrated HM, based on clips, I found him SUPER annoying...but I actually do think Cameron was a worthy winner...same way I feel with Aaron and Jason...he's just so likable...!

I watched it on youtube around a year or so ago, seems like it's been taken down. They had every one of them up that's why I'm somewhat remembering the C4 years a bit better now.
I thought Cameron could be a miserable sod at times, while he was pining for the other bore Steph. Her, Cameron and Gos got to go down as three of the most boring housemates ever, but they were sly too. I think Cameron showed more personality in the South African house. But it wasn't a lot either :joker:. I never understood why many loved him for.
Ray was actually one of the only housemates who wanted to have a little fun. His chats with Scott at nights on Live feed were better then most of BB4.
BB4 cast could have done without Gos, Nush, Justine and Sissy in the house. I let Scott of the hook cause when he was with Ray he was fun. How they made it I never know. Letting them bring in books was a massive mistake (thank god they got rid of that). I'd put Gos down as one of the worse BB housemates ever. I think if they kept Anouska (I know she gets slightly overrated on here about what impact she would have had but I do think she would have bought a little danger to it), Fed and Jon a little longer.
I think Tania had potential if she was in a house with more liked minded people. I did love Lisa the crazy new housemate that came in later, if tey replaced her with Nush or Justine. She probably would have given the house the villain it need.
Would have been nice to see a Victor BB5 type in that house, someone who mixed it up a little. It lacked a villain for me.

I still think Channel 4 could upload a lot of the BB series 1 to 11 onto YouTube, every highlight Episode, Eviction with Interviews and The Final onto playlists. It would be a nice thing to do as it would stop people uploading them. But sadly I think Channel 4 is ashamed of the show and we will only see the show by people been nice enough to upload them.

I must agree on that. BB12 is terribly underrated/hated/misjudged because of the C5 trauma. I'll write a full separated thread about the entire series after I finish watching it this month.
