Following the success of previous series set in Essex, Yorkshire, East End and Cardiff the fly on the wall series returns this time set in Greater Manchester.

The fifth series was filmed at Harrop Fold in Little Hulton Salford, it captures every detail of life in a modern school.

****ing hell, it's all kicking off isn't it. It's quite surreal because this sort of thing never happened at my school.

Haven't watched Educating since Yorkshire but as I'm a Greater Manchester girl myself, I shall be watching.

It's been 30 minutes and already you could microanalyse these kids' confessionals and interactions with each other to the minutest detail and draw all sorts of conclusions about the influence of the media

Hate is learned, folks!

Why is it 'Greater' Manchester btw? It doesn't roll off the tongue as easy as the other titles

Oh because they couldn't just say Educating Salford could they? The media would never portray Salford as a city in its own right :skull:

Probably because Salford isn't a well known area like Yorkshire/Essex/Cardiff/East London (they're all generalised mind except Cardiff and Essex)

Maybe the Greater Manchester one should've been in Wigan so I could've been on CBB?

Yes :skull: our headteacher was a fat greedy irish bloke who then left us to concentrate on another school in the area that was struggling and joined us together. the 'new headteacher' (but i never classified him as one because he was more or less the deputy in my eyes) was just a lanky twat who had no personality and couldn't run the school properly

That shocked me! Although not really I was wondering why a girl wearing a hijab ran away from my dog when it went up to her.

Finished this series last week and it was brilliant as usual. Leon :clap2:
A great fan of the Educating series, and I read they're doing two more series in Harrop for the first time - so it's wonderful news.

Started watching now Indian Summer School which is currently on C4. Does anybody else watch it? It's a different production and concept, but C4 and education-related factual series turns out to be a pretty good combination.

I'd rather them have returned to Yorkshire tbh, that's still my favourite series

The good thing about this though is there's more time to see the stories of the same students and staff
