Sad to see Briony go, she was one of my top 3 alongside Kim Joy and Ruby.

For the first time ever what I think will happen is what I want to happen. Kim Joy will most likely win.

Every year, and like most shows, the producers create characters and arcs which usually leave us with someone with experience of pro-baking (Kim Joy), someone who lacks confidence and doesn't realise their own talent (Rahul), and a home baker that can be fairly hit and miss but does well on the whole (Ruby). I don't believe we had any pro bakers this year, so Kim Joy has taken that role as a fairly consistent contestant.

It's is very rare in GBBO (I think completely unheard of iirc) that the 'pro-baker' comes out the winner, and part of the reason why I think Kim Joy will win.

Ruby is simply too similar to Candice, and so I think they'll avoid choosing her as the winner partly for that reason. Also I think her 'stereotype' was the winner last year (I genuinely can't remember anything about her but I remember Steven being the pro and i forgot who the third was) so theyll switch it up. This gives her the lowest chance - but if she thrashes the other two I think she will take the win regardless. Judging from past though, I think the final will be relatively level.

Rahul could stand a chance of winning as it's been a while since his 'stereotype' won the show (the last being Nadiya) but he has had two consecutiveley poor weeks as well as a few misses prior so I think it's unlikely he will win.

Kim Joy on the other hand has not only been consistent, but we have seen a development in her character throughout the show. I think she has the best chance of winning, and unless she completely mucks up she probably will.

Sadly the right result, I'm just glad my top two are in the final. Serving Tamal & Nadiya realness. This time, though, I like the third one as well...

I've got a feeling it's between Kim-Joy and Rahul, and think Kim-Joy will edge it just for her intricacy and attention to detail... because that semi-final was a shambles and the idea that Ruby could win that when she had door-stoppers instead of delicate patisserie is a bit silly :laugh:

...I stepped out of the room for a second and missed how Rahul won the Madeleine bakes as opposed to Kim-Joy...hers were the most perfect of all of them by a clear country Madeleine, surely...?...


..I like all of the final three as well...how could anyone not love Ruby..:lovedup:...’breathe Rahul’....:laugh:...I don’t know thought, it’s just a silly little thing..that I love bakers who bake with their hearts and bake with emotion and their bake means everything to them..it makes them or it breaks them...Ruby is more controlled and more able to isolate her emotions to be able to focus and create great bakes...it’s hard to explain...she’s lovely though...

I do think they need to strip back to the traditional home baking challenges. When they're telling us even Pattisieres would struggle with these, then how on earth can they succeed to a great standard?

Want and hope Kim Joy to win. Did want Rahul to win a few weeks ago but the last 2 weeks has been bad for him.Ruby is opposite she has had 2 good weeks and deserves to be there but might have got better a little too late.But whoever wins im happy with as I like all 3 of them for once

Great series, one of my favourites actually. Second to the Nadiya series. Loving Prue a lot more now, she was a bit stiff in her first season (and the fact that last series' contestants were the most boring selection ever, didn't help)

I do think the standard of the past 3 weeks have been pretty poor, though... the only "wow" designs from tonight were Ruby's doughnuts and the crazy attention to detail / variety from Rahul in the showstopper. It actually looked alive :love: poor Kim-Joy just didn't deliver at all </3 just showed off some pretty interesting, but substance-less, decoration techniques (that coral was cool). But yeah the semi-final was a disaster all around and it was a case of "who did the worst" rather than previous series where it was a case of "who doesn't quite match the best 3?" :sad:
