it sort of happened to me once in a minor way when i just had charlie this german shepherd snapped his lead and came bouncing over and like gripped charlie around his neck D: charlie just made this horrible wincing noise so i screamed lol and the dog let go, luckily he never broke the skin/drew blood or anything and maybe the other dog was just rough playing but i swear my heart stopped and i was shaking for like a half hour afterwards :skull:

It happened to my dog when the kids were walking her, 3 dogs went for her, one of them grabbed her by her back leg and started swinging her round like a rag doll. She's lucky she survived, her leg is still a not a hundred percent but the Vet did such a good job on her, he had to reattach tendons and stuff, if that dog had grabbed her just a few milimetres in, he would have caught an artery and she would have bleed to death right there

Fear is natural and tells us we are in danger, we can over ride our bodies built in fear alert.

We also develop irrational fears, that lead to a life of worry and dread, that lead to depression anxiety panic attacks and mental illness.

And then there are fears based on an actual event that has happened to us or someone we know, and that thought pops into are heads causing fear

I pick up a stick when I take my dog for a long walk, if another dog ever attacked her I would snap it over its back and honestly probably stab it.

I've seen a dog attacked when I was walking my dog and it's so scary, I think dog owners should have them muzzled if they have little experience around other dogs or know they can become aggressive. If Cherry was vicious towards other dogs I would muzzle her but she loves other dogs shes really friendly.

I have a ridiculously irrational fear at the moment, especially living in the UK. It came yesterday when I was sending the kids back to school...started panicking like **** thinking there would be a shooting at their school :umm2: Been a bag of nerves yesterday and today and I know its stupid and I have no idea where its came from either :S Very nearly brought them back out of school over it actually.

I think being fully paralysed is a major fear of mine. I was luckily only paralysed from the chest down (so I could move my arms and head but for a week or 2 just doing that made me tired and dizzy) but a relapse is quite likely given my condition and it could very well happen. I've met people with my disease who need a trachea (they relapsed after making a good recovery too) and it scares me that one of these days I'll just stop breathing (possibly die, or be starved of oxygen for too long) and need to live with one for the rest of my life. Seeing their tracheas fall out and them instantly black out scarred me, which again goes back to my fear of being starved of oxygen.

Worse than not being able to breathe unaided is the idea of just being unable to move or communicate at all... it was humiliating enough to only having the independence to eat and surf the net on my phone, but the idea of being unable to speak and being in a vegetative state... I'd be lying if I said I didn't shake at the thought of it daily

Especially the ones connected with the sea in some way - oil rigs, freighters, aircraft carriers, whales, giant squid etc. I think it stems from a level of Super Mario 64 that I always hated where you're underwater and that giant ****ing eel keeps coming to get you :fist:

But also the idea of space terrifies me, that GIF that pops up from time to time illustrating the size - to scale - of our solar system compared to other stars and galaxies... *shudders*

A shallow well. Smartass

I remember someone telling me years ago that someone they knew died when they fell off their quad bike and it rolled on top of them.

That didn't kill them, they died from drowning in a PUDDLE because the weight of the quad squashed them face first into it and they couldn't lift their head out of it to breathe.

Awful.
