View Full Version : Is there a place for raw emotion on TIBB or any other similar forum.

I like a good read of this forum and it is evident that a lot of posters post through raw emotion and the posts can sometimes seem OTT and end up being deleted.
So should forums be more open to the raw emotion that people feel with certain subjects?

Depends if their raw emotion involves insulting other forum members or not

well if you insult forum members you get banned, right :fan:
so something like that is a no-go for me :hee:

We could have an opt-in raw emotion subforum where we all air our angers and... passions... :smug:
But if you're not interested in that sort of thing you can just opt out.
There could be some absolutely epic threads in a section like that .

Obviously that should never be allowed as nobody comes on a forum to be insulted but people feel very strongly about certain issues and it is just human nature for people to get worked up about those issues.
should we not think about allowing a little leeway here and there during a heated debate as long as members aren't insulting eachother?

Yeah there should be a no holds barred thread!!!

That has come up over the years but you know it would end up messy as ****. That UBB thread we were only talking about recently is a prime example and you would still have people complaining when we allow you all to go to town on eachother

Im sure its unhealthy to keep all of it inside though  surely having a thread is going to relieve the stress of it all
Keeping it in kills you off early :nono: TiBB trying to kill off even more members smh

TBF TiBB gives quite a bit more leeway than a lot of forums already.
But yeah, I've spoken before of a forum (similar size to this one) that I was a member of as a teenager. It had ONE moderator (the admin) and he was paid staff, 9 - 5 Monday - Friday. So all evening every day, and all weekend, the place was completely unmoderated.
And I seriously LOVED that forum :joker:. It was the Wild West, a total free-for-all, and forged some pretty meek and mild members into the best keyboard warriors I've had the pleasure to encounter. Simpler times. Sigh.

Thats why you should make it opt-in, rather than opt-out, with a disclaimer! Like "If you accept access to this subforum, you forfeit any right to complain about anything posted inside".
With obvious exceptions e.g. posting people's personal details / stolen pictures of them (oh yes, I have seen that happen :umm2: )

Were they pictures of someone
DP'ing herself with two dildos, alongside screenshots of the accompanying cybersex conversation?
Because that was one of the ones that went around :joker:

OK yes, at least the girl on the forum I was on wasn't underage.
Though I was on another large student forum (now HUGE student forum) where one of the admins (...yeah... now ex-admin) was soliciting nude / semi nude selfies of teenage forum members and storing them up / occasionally sending them on to other members. He also offered a few girls cash to meet up in hotels with him and "perform" on the bed, saying he just wated to smoke cigarettes and watch. Not quite as bad as again I;d say all of the girls would have been 18 - 21 (though I believe a couple were probably 17) but yeah. An ADMIN! :omgno:
I mean a couple of mods here have asked for dikpix but never an admin...
