Having a sex robot seems like a decent idea for a lonely person, all things considered. But that idea gets thrown out the window when your pleasure bot turns into a bloodthirsty, murderous lunatic, capable of spilling your guts out onto your living room floor. :worry:
That's a distinct possibility in the future, according to a cybersecurity scientist who fears how easily these robots can be corrupted by humans. Dr. Nick Patterson, a cybersecurity lecturer at Deakin University in Australia, believes the more advanced that sex robots become, the bigger threat they pose to the people who derive pleasure from them.
“Hackers can hack into a robot or a robotic device and have full control of the connections, arms, legs, and other attached tools like in some cases knives or welding devices," said Patterson. "Often these robots can be upwards of 200 pounds, and very strong. Once a robot is hacked, the hacker has full control and can issue instructions to the robot."
