I kind of appreciate them both in regard to how they are the absolute antithesis of each other in terms of British vs American dramedy.

However, I do think OITNB is far superior in terms of how engaging it is, partly to do with the reasons Marsh has already stated,

Yeah at times Bad Girls was relentlessly miserable.

OITNB has been criticised the last couple of seasons for having less comedy but I thought season 5 was actually packed with humour. But it might feel different to people who don't like black comedy as much which I love. [emoji23]

The one thing I HATED about this show was how many characters got no exit/ending or a stupidly ambiguous one.
