More posturing and provocation.

NK is insane but they won't throw the first punch, they want to provoke someone into attacking them first so they can have China bail them out. If they strike first then China won't come to their aid.

This

It's also all about Kim Jong Un showing his country that he's some big king of the world. Now he's got all these new toys to play with, there's going to be a lot more of this to come sadly.

So far Japan has showed enormous restraint. I wonder what Russia or China would do if someone fired a missile over them. China needs to do more to reign him in. You do wonder if someone will just try to force a regime change quietly from the inside.

I think that's the most likely option. The problem is, China wouldn't support this because of the likely flooding of mass immigration.

Another thing is, anyone who commits a crime in NK ensnares his entire family into that crime. Its not only the perpetrator that gets executed or imprisoned, its everyone who has association with that person, including children and even babies. Its a nation that lives in fear; nobody trusts anyone.

I think he's playing games with Trump and now Trump has backed down with his threats, he's given Kim Jong a clear message about who's in charge. If Trump makes the first strike, China and probably Russia and numerous other countries will go to war with the West. The NK threat is much bigger than NK.

Can't a special agent go under cover as an NK resident and just kill him?

Everything is controlled and regulated in NK, you couldn't easily sneak someone in and make out that they are a citizen, plus movement is restricted. You need special permission to leave the area you live in so it would be very difficult to get to Pyongyang itself if an undercover assassin managed to smuggle themselves in.

'Dotard' Trump? The story of 'rocket man' Kim's insult

On Friday the English-speaking world was startled to find itself suddenly reacquainted with the 14th-Century term "dotard", thanks to an unlikely source - Kim Jong-un.

'Dotard' Trump? The story of 'rocket man' Kim's insult (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-41357315)

Definition of dotage

:a state or period of senile decay marked by decline of mental poise and alertness

I've heard of the term doting meaning a similar thing, it's not unheard of.. so I guess someone doting is a dotard :/
In response trump might say Kims views are retarded, which would of course make him ret@rd.

You can say n***a but not ret@rd?

Anyhoo surprised the media is focusing on this silly word and not the very real threat D:

People say NK won't throw the first punch. Isn't firing countless rockets over Japan doing exactly that? Think about it, they are firing missiles at a other country. Imagine that Scotland say decided to practice firing the UK's missiles across towards China. How would that be received?

How would that be received?Well it's not a "punch" until the missiles actually cause structural damage or loss of life... It's a "taunt". NK is the angry little fella in the school playground, stood in front of the big jock, screaming at him about shagging his mum. The intention is to get the jock to punch him in the face, so that he can get other people to attack the jock (The other people in this scenario being China and Russia).

A worrying prospect for the US would be an EMP attack. It could knock out the electric grid and all electrical equipment including hospitals and even satellites etc for years. The US is highly reliant on electricity and a large percentage of the population may not survive.
It would involve an ICBM with a low yield nuclear weapon detonating above the Earths atmosphere. No need for the missile to be heat shielded for re-entry.Many think Kim has this planned and it’s his easiest option to cripple the US.It would be hard to intercept too.

Tensions between NK and the US are so great at this stage I think war is very plausible.

Its worrying how personal this has become. Both Trump and the NK dictator are notoriously thin-skinned. Both these guys have exceptionally high ego’s; both are volatile which makes one neither less dangerous than the other. Trump keeps slighting the NK dictator through his ‘beautiful Twitter account’ and Kim hits back with his fiery rhetoric through world media.

Trump, for the sake of South Korea, America, and the West, needs to shut the fcuk up… this is not a game.

all of the USA's defence capability is EMP shielded, so it wouldn't stop NK being wiped out. Also, remember that any attack on a NATO member country automatically puts the other members at war so it wouldnt be very smart for NK to try it

Or South Korea. And who's side will China take? Russia's relationship with the U.S is the worst its been since the end of the Cold War so there's a good chance Russia and China will take the side of NK.

As for NATO (http://http://www.dw.com/en/nations-start-to-choose-sides-in-event-of-north-korea-war/a-40049024) - Despite Article 5 of the NATO Charter, which requires all members to come to the aid of any attacked member, it is unlikely Germany and other NATO members would be required to take military action against North Korea as Guam falls outside of the collective defense geographic limits detailed in the charter's sixth article.

The US SHOULD do nothing, it's not their fight and it's only the actions of a small dicked president trying to overcompensate by acting a fool on social media that's making it their fight for no other reason then to take the spotlight off the investigations into his corruption.

Donald Trump will doom us all if he strikes first and goes to war over his ego.

it's not about taking action, its about behaving in a civilised manner. Trump is like an illiterate child. My stick is bigger than yours is about the level of it.

If NK fire a missile at the USA or one of its allies, action will be taken. NK know it. So trading insults is completely pointless. NK can act with all the bravado they can muster, but they know that the moment they do anything they are finished, so Trump should keep his mouth shut and act like an adult for once in his life.

You’re right it wouldn’t be smart but with the rhetoric getting more and more heated who knows what either leader might do.
As for the EMP i was reading that much of the US power grid on the west coast is very old and they don’t have many transformers as they’re expensive and made in China and Germany. The EMP would fry cables aswell. So the defence systems maybe shielded but the civilian infrastructure is’nt.People would go ape **** if the power went down for years, industry, health care, food processing, everything would be crippled.
Also guidance satellites in the vicinity would be knocked out.

True. The more he says the more he forces himself to take action. His ego won’t let him back down.
