Yes you basically boil them then simmer them down for ages
Stovies is a Scottish dish based on potatoes and meat. Recipes and ingredients vary widely, but the dish always contains potatoes, onions, other vegetables, sausages, roast beef, minced beef or other meat.
Traditional stovies is actually just potato and onion, then others started using meat I think :think:

mm potatoes .... mashed or baked yum!
jacket spud topped with beans & cheese
mash with sunday lunch or mash n beans & sausage .. well mash with pretty much most things yum...
love mash or jacket spuds more than chips :)
