View Full Version : People who can sleep all day in bed...

I'm a light sleeper and sometimes just get a few hours a night.
But I know people who can go to bed at 10pm, and sleep right through till 1pm the next day (that's 13 hours) without waking up once. Not even to go to the toilet.
Another guy I know, he's about 12 years older than me, and he can sleep all day and night. I told me he was 20 hours in bed asleep without waking up once.
I said, 'Gawd, you must have been bursting for the lav.':joker: He said, no.
I'd hate to be like that. These people are sleeping their lives away.
How much sleep do you get? Thanks.

8-10 hours normally.
When I came back from Mexico at Christmas I slept from 10pm to 6pm ops
mainly because of time difference and I didn't manage to sleep on the plane
and i stayed up the next day

Varies, normally cat nap through the night, 20 minutes to anywhere up to three hours.
If I get 3 good hours sleep a night then I am doing well.
I normally fall asleep when I should be getting up.

I probably average at 8.. little more when I work from home, little less when I work elsewhere. Dont like to feck up my body clock on weekends too much, me being ill would be the only reason I'd stay there 9hours+

My sleeping pattern varies. Some nights I could sleep for maybe 10 hours, others I struggle to sleep for 5 or 6.

hi brunt - great post and interesting - light sleeper here and need very little. I get annoyed that when I read my poetry and people full into a comma and they take ages to wake up but I glad to say they all say it was not the poem I was reading.
when asked if I should do them a poem on getter better they tell me they will call me and I must not bother them till they do. I later find they have moved

The longest I've slept is like 16 hours but I've woken up once or twice in-between.
And I was catching up from having pulled an all nighter during uni.
But, in general, sleeping that long on a regular basis is weird.
But some people work differently. My nan used to function on as little as 3-4 hours a night.

I know so many people who can do this, I just don't get it.
I sleep on average about 6hrs a night, if I oversleep then I can't sleep the next night and it's just awful getting up and down and feeling restless.

My normal sleep, work or not, is like between 11pm-1am to 7-9am

I find many of them in Highgate and they are always below the poetry - I say for god sake if you want to sleep go and find a bench

Usually settle down around midnight and sleep for solid 6 hours.
That's really all I've ever seemed to need.

When I'm working I sleep for 6-7 hours
On my day off I like to catch up on sleep so I'll sleep for 9-10 hours to refresh the batteries

During a working week I get by on about 7 hours. On my days off I sleep for about 10 hours and could sleep longer but I resent losing the day if I stay in bed too long.
I'd be interested to know how many people who sleep long hours have difficulty getting up in the morning?
