The only one I've really liked so far is Mitchell Lee (even he is a bit basic, but he has a nice voice and he's extremely pretty). His song choice wasn't the most exciting, but with the right song he could sell super well imo.
Ashland has got something about her as well, she's got a lot of potential. I think Miley will be a good coach for her.
Hoping for better shows next week...

i like Chris, cause i like soul singers, they are rare these days, at least good soul singers, motown style :hee:
Dylan also seems nice

Dylan was okay, but I was comparing his version to James' too much and it was nothing on it. I was waiting for the high notes but he just didn't go there, even when Jenn practically forced him to he still couldn't reach them :worry:

okay then i might think, he might go out in the battles then
Esera did impress me, former NFL player i quite like his voice, he has potential to do really well if they work on the breathing a bit, but at teamblake he is in good hands, cause Blake has won with different types of singers

Finally after the dreadful Rak-Su victory on The X Factor this year we finally get to The Voice who actually voted for an interesting winner with an interesting vocal that doesn't sound like all of the other winners that we've heard a thousand times before them on the show.
Addison just vocally wasn't ready imo, Brooke was good but very unoriginal, and Red Marlow I personally feel robbed Noah's spot in the final, or if we were gonna have a Country singer then I liked Natalie Stovall who played the Violin in the play-offs.
But yeah Chloe is probably the best Talent Show winner in a long time, and the best of The Voice's winners imo.

I feel that Chloe was the better vocalist and the better performer of the two, plus doing more of my personal preference in Music than Addison.
My issue with Addison is that she was really dull to listen to every week, and I feel that people let her off with ropey vocals just because she was 16, maybe she came off like a nice person too (I don't know as I didn't watch the VT's) but Addison, Red, and Adam all getting to the top 6 was a mystery to me as there was imo better singers or more interesting singers going out over them. Maybe it's also a cultural thing where singers like Addison are not that big in the UK and for once I'm in sync with my own country who knows.:joker:
But yeah a Rock voice will appeal to me alot more over an Addison type as Chloe also sung rather than shouted or whinged through songs which alot of The Voice winners can have a bad habit of doing imo, however I will say that Chloe's song choices were never the best I feel as I'd have liked to have seen her go more Rock.

I know that this is a thread to do with series 13 but I just want to go on a rant about series 14 for a second.
How on earth did Wilkes not go through Blake's category? I think that Pryor and Spensha have potential to be okay at the lives, but Wilkes was the most polished act so should've gone through imo.
My opinion of the top 12 going into the main part of the lives.
1. Pryor Baird (he has the potential to do songs that I like)
2. Jackie Foster
3. Britton Buchanan (for being more consistent than the others)
4. Christiana Danielle
5. Spensha Baker
6. Sharane Callister (the definition of inconsistent so far)
7. D.R King
8. Kaleb Lee
9. Brynn Cartelli
10. Kyla Jade
11. Rayshun Lamarr
12. Jackie Verna (how did she get through?)

The song choices again have been strange this week, Christiana pulled hers off quite well I think, and Jackie Verna was the only one that I feel was given a song that suited her more limited vocal.
My rankings of this week's performances.
1. Jackie Verna
2. Christiana Danielle
3. Jackie Foster - She could've had a moment with that performance, but the song didn't quite fit the arrangement.
4. Britton Buchanan
5. Sharane Callister - I love her passion that she puts into performances, her vocal and song choice are what's letting her down in this performance though imo.
6. Kaleb Lee
7. Brynn Cartelli
8. Spensha Baker
9. Pryor Baird - A strong vocalist, but wtf was that song choice!?
10. Kyla Jade
11. Rayshunn Lamarr
12. DR King
DR King, Rayshunn, and Pryor had the worst song choices on the night imo.
And I just can't get behind Kyla and Brynn.

Yeah Jackie Foster is getting poor mentoring imo, the arrangement didn't fit the song choice and it didn't compliment her as much as it should've done.
And Kaleb is a decent singer I think, but I get why you're struggling with him as he does come off as quite boring during his performances.

Yeah I'm glad that it weren't Sharane or Jackie Verna as they did enough to deserve to go through this week I feel.
I am surprised at DR King and Rayshun being the bottom two though as normally the terrible performances can get a contestant a sympathy bounce and knock someone who's done okay on the night into the bottom two.

I don't know if anyone in this series would suit that song tbh.
Here's the songs that I would give them personally.
Jackie Verna - Burning House by Cam
Christiana Danielle - Gravity by DJ Fresh ft Ella Eyre
Jackie Foster - Fire Meet Gasoline by Sia
Britton Buchanan - High And Dry by Radiohead
Sharane Callister - Diamonds by Rihanna
Kaleb Lee - Billie Jean by Michael Jackson (there are Country versions out there)
Brynn Cartelli - One Last Time by Ariana Grande
Spensha Baker - Work Song by Hozier
Pryor Baird - Second Chance by Shinedown
Kyla Jade - I Am The Fire by Halestorm (something unexpected that she could easily turn into a Diva number)
Rayshun Lamarr - Stay With Me by Sam Smith
I don't know if all of these songs are well known in the US, but I think that it would make for better performances, or more interesting performances in some circumstances.

I think that Sia does suit more Rock vocalists quite well as something more "offbeat" that's why I do like Sia songs on singing shows as they can suit all sorts of singers.
For a more Rocked up number for Jackie Foster I'd say Just Tonight by The Pretty Reckless, or Uprising by Muse could be an interesting one for her.

My favorite era is the 90s too as that's when I was growing up. The very early 00s were okay but afterwards it was very meh. But I think the 70s and 80s play the best on the show because the average viewer is older on the voice.

The 10's has been poor I agree as alot of the songs all tend to be quite similar to each other in the charts.
And I get what you're saying, but I'm always of the belief that songs should be given that suit the singer which not every singer suits the styles of the 70's and 80's imo.

It was an interesting week, some of the singers have more charisma onstage but don't necessarily have the best vocal, and then we have some strong vocalists who don't have the charisma to back it up, and then we also had Christiana who had a bad arrangement to her song this week but again does have some talent.
Here is my rankings for this week.
1. Jackie Verna - Her vocal has got so much better since the play-offs, and I also like the fact that Adam picks her songs that actually suit her and not hinder her, and they're also not songs that seem to get done to death every year on the show. She has been my surprise package at the lives as I normally don't like singers like Jackie.
2. Jackie Foster - I've got to be honest I find her vocal a bit all over the place, but her vibe and the song itself was fantastic which gives her a leg up over singers that just bored the pants off me, or just didn't have the same strength with her song choice.
3. Pryor Baird - A much better week for him this week, I do wish that he had more of the Rock swagger that comes with the genre, but he is the strongest vocalist in the competition I feel and the song choice suited him much more than last week.
4. Rayshun Lamarr - The song choice whilst incredibly predictable for Rayshun, it did definitely suit him alot more than his song choice last week did, I also liked the manic performing style he had going on in the second half of his performance as it made him standout more to me, and it made his version of the song standout alot more to me to compared to other Talent Show versions of the song.
5. Britton Buchanan - Britton has a good voice (probably the next strongest after Pryor imo) but he just plays it so dull and safe that I can't quite get into his performances. Don't get me wrong I think that he deserves to go through this week, but he needs to do something more exciting going forward to get my support as his just playing the mundane winner journey at the moment.
6. Spensha Baker - Like Britton she has a good voice, but she's just delivering alot of dull performances at the moment, again she deserves to go through, but she does need to get more exciting going forward as yet again she just lacks exciting moments during her performance.
7. Brynn Cartelli - Again a decent voice but just doesn't seem to connect with her songs when I'm listening to her performances, maybe I'm being harsh on Brynn because she's just not my type of singer at all, but she feels quite lifeless to me.
8. Kaleb Lee - I like the fact that Kaleb did something more upbeat this week, but I did struggle to understand what he was singing at points, and he didn't have the energetic attitude that you're suppose to have during a song like the one he sung, I'd give him another chance next week to see if he gets more exciting, but time is running out for him at this point as he isn't the best singer in the competition imo to get away with a lackluster persona.
9. Christiana Danielle - There's talent there with Christiana, but her arrangement of that song was just all wrong and I do feel was not the right direction to take her down, she was definitely better last week.
10. Sharane Callister - She had a very cliched Mariah Carey song to sing and she didn't even sing it well imo. Sharane should be concerned this week as she already had one of the smaller fanbases anyway and this performances didn't really do anything to push her high up the pecking order I feel.
11. Kyla Jade - This performance was just purely disgraceful to Music, it was just screaming, screaming, and more screaming, how she is one of the most popular singers in this competition is beyond me when she does performances like this.

I think Jackie Verna was the biggest surprise performance this week. I never paid much attention to her but she had a real good performance this week. Adam picked the perfect song for her. On the contrary Kelly did the exact opposite for Brynn. I think Brynn is a good singer but she needs the slower songs not all these upbeat songs that Kelly herself likes to cover. If Brynn had Adam or even Blake as her coach I think I woumd like her performances a lot better.

And yeah Brynn is a good singer at what she does, she just needs to push herself more.
Tbh if I was picking the songs for next weeks top 10 then this is what I'd give them all assuming that said contestant gets to the top 10.
It would be more curveball song choices tbh that they've got to "make their own" just to make the performances more exciting as some of these singers are getting away with playing it safe.
Jackie Verna - California King Bed by Rihanna
Jackie Foster - One Of Those Nights by Juicy J
Pryor Baird - Incomplete by Backstreet Boys
Rayshun Lamarr - Chandelier by Sia
Britton Buchanan - Crawling by Linkin Park
Spensha Baker - Decode by Paramore
Brynn Cartelli - Can't Feel My Face by The Weeknd
Kaleb Lee - Underneath Your Clothes by Shakira
Christiana Danielle - Eternal Flame by The Bangles
Sharane Callister - I'm Not Afraid by Eminem
Kyla Jade - Budapest by George Ezra
I know that one of them would have to get eliminated first, but whoever got to the top 10 I'd love to see them try out these song choices that I would give them, I reckon that it would show some interesting results.

My opinion of this week's top 10 performances (for anyone that's interested anyway)
1. Jackie Foster - The song suited her much more than what I tend to find they normally give Jackie to sing, I'll always give credit to Jackie Foster aswell in that in every performance that she has done I have remembered them really well and this one does standout quite alot and actually was her most flawless performance so far imo.
2. Kyla Jade - I never thought that I'd put Kyla at number 2 but the song choice was very good to pick for her (if not slightly obvious) but it was definitely better from Kyla than what I've seen off her in any of the other rounds.
3. Brynn Cartelli - Again a little safe compared to the more challenging Coldplay songs she could've picked for herself, but I really enjoyed the second half of the performance when the Guitar playing from one of the background guys came in, and her vocal is always on point.
4. Spensha Baker - Definitely her best performance to date imo, I still think she suffers from being slightly dull, but the song choice was better for her this week.
5. Jackie Verna - She got off to a slow start imo, but she definitely got better in the second half of the performance, it's just for me it wasn't Verna's best round.
6. Kaleb Lee - Kaleb as usual delivered a decent vocal, however he does still have the problem of coming off as Karaoke and it hinders his performances in my view.
7. Christiana Danielle - I'll give Christiana credit she stoodout compared to everybody else this week in terms of what she was going for, but personally I just couldn't get into it, she still hasn't topped her Say Something performance imo.
8. Pryor Baird - His playing it completely safe at this point and it wasn't as good as last week for him so that knocks him back alot imo, the only thing saving him for me at this point is his really good vocal.
9. Britton Buchanan - I just feel bored everytime that I listen to one of Britton's performances, there's no doubt that there's talent there, but he needs to have a more exciting performance in the future.
10. Rayshun Lamarr - He got a bit too shouty for my tastes, it's ashame as he does have more stage presence than some of the others in the competition.

I do feel that there was potential with Pryor, but he just seems to be going down the wrong lane imo, and it's always songs from decades gone by rather than songs from now.
And I never thought that I'd say this but it's ashame to lose Jackie Verna as she was the most improved contestant of the year I feel, hopefully she goes on to do well for herself post show which I hope for them all tbh, but especially Verna.

My opinion of the performances at the top 8.
1. Jackie Foster & Rayshun Lamarr - Their duet wasn't note perfect, but it's the kind of performance that I do like to listen to in my Music, loud Guitars, Drums, and alot of energy from my performers with a decent vocal to back it up. I also loved the staging effects.
2. Kaleb Lee - I know that this is probably an unpopular opinion, but I do think that Kaleb sung his song to the best of his ability which is something that I normally do tend to question from him in other weeks, he also lost the Karaoke vibe in this performance which made taking his performance seriously possible.
3. Spensha Baker - It was nice to see her actually have something more upbeat this week, her vocal wasn't perfect imo, but it was still an okay performance.
4. Kyla Jade & Spensha Baker - Not really my kind of Music, but they did sing it okay bar a few shouty moments from Kyla.
5. Britton Buchanan - It was the typical safe Britton performance that we always get, but it was of a higher calibre than the other performances on the night imo.
6. Kaleb Lee & Pryor Baird - It was nice to hear Pryor sing a song that's newer than the 70's, but this duet did reek of Karaoke despite some decent vocals from Pryor mainly, they also had harmonising issues that were quite prominent in the performance.
7. Jackie Foster - This performance didn't work for me I'm afraid AarynGriesfan, the show gave her a very karaoke number here and it makes me wonder if they want her in trouble this week. However I will say as a positive that she tried to perform the hell out of it which is nice in a series where the Walkers out of TWD seem like they've got more personality than most of these contestants.
8. Kyla Jade - An okay first half of the performance, but the second half got really, really shouty, I honestly don't get the hype for this performance by the public at all.
9. Brynn Cartelli - Funeral Music.
10. Pryor Baird - Again it was nice to see him not be stuck in the 70's, but my god Blake/production really do give him dull songs to sing don't they, Pryor's voice should clearly be more aimed towards Grunge/Post-Grunge sounds yet they keep giving him either Soft Rock or Country numbers, I really don't get it.
11. Britton Buchanan/Brynn Cartelli - Pass me the bucket.:yuk:
12. Rayshun Lamarr - Predictable song to sing on a Talent Show, and he just sung it completely wrong in my view.
Imo Rayshun is a cert to be in there, I do think though that the public should teach one of Brynn, Pryor, and Britton a lesson for keep playing it safe and MOR and drop them in the drop zone just to give them a kick up the ass. I know it'll never happen, but incredibly safe and dull performances should be punished on these shows.

I checked the sing-off out and I'd say that the right choice was made.
Pryor was woeful, he took all of the subtle moments and just screamed through them, it was all sung at one level and his vocal never really went anywhere.
Britton I'd say that it was his best performance at the lives, but he still picked a predictable song choice for himself that's been done quite a few times on The Voice around the world. However he actually didn't come off as lazy in this performance and he did sing most of it well so fair play to him.

I'm not very keen on Britton either tbh, the only thing that is bothering me with the result is the media going so OTT about three women making the final when it also happened in the last series unless one of Chloe, Brooke, or Addison were really men and I never knew about it.:joker:
And sadly for Jackie she weren't gonna appeal to the Housewife demographic as much as Pryor which is the main voting block on singing shows.

My opinion of the final performances.
Solo performances:
1. Britton Buchanan - I weren't very keen on the song tbh, but it was nice to see him being more energetic onstage rather than being a Zombie.
2. Brynn Cartelli - The beginning was quite good, but she did start to descend on the chorus and it kinda went hit and miss from there for me personally.
3. Spensha Baker - I couldn't wait for the performance to end tbh.
4. Kyla Jade - An overdone song choice and she just screamed through the song.
Duet performances:
1. Britton Buchanan & Alicia Keys - It weren't perfect and the song was slowed down a bit more than I'd have liked personally, but overall their vocal harmonies, and the way they did their song was just more professionally done than the others imo.
2. Brynn & Kelly - I like the song, and I feel that they worked better as a duet than the other two duets.
3. Spensha & Blake - The one thing that you don't realise about Spensha until you have to listen to her multiple times in one night is how she sings at one level, all of her performances no matter what the tempo is all sounds the same due to the fact that she can't change it up much at all.
4. Kyla & Blake - I feel like this duet just didn't work for me at all, their voices didn't mesh, the song was dull, and ultimately I feel like the song was too low for Kyla's voice and therefore shouldn't have been given to her.
Original/Winners song:
1. Britton Buchanan - I actually quite liked this from Britton, I don't know if it's stood out on a poor night for me, but it was more like I wanted to see from Britton than what we've been getting from him throughout the series.
2. Brynn Cartelli - The song is catchy, and her vocal as usual was inconsistent throughout the song, and I despised the fact that her song only had Walk My Way as most of it's lyrical content, but there were positives for her which is more than I can say for the other two who's night just wasn't up to scratch.
3. Spensha Baker - It was her best performance imo, but it was still quite mediocre for me personally.
4. Kyla Jade - The same as Spensha.
So I kind of went into this final leaning towards Kyla, now I'm more Britton or Brynn to win based off the night, although I do begrudge the show with Brynn a little bit as they do want her to win.

Yeah Kyla had a really good shot going into the night but she was really bad during the finale so she blew it. Brynn and Britton had the best nights and are selling the best. But I do think Brynn is gonna win since shes got the biggest fan base and got to close out with Skyfall and she did pretty well with it.
I can't wait to see Jackie Foster perform tonight! and Chloe I can't wait to see her perform as well!

Yeah it felt like Kyla was being sabotaged imo because they want Brynn to win, I mean tbf to the general public why on earth would you vote for Kyla to win if you've only just tuned into the finale based off those horrendous performances?
And I did really like Chloe last year, the best Voice winner in my view.

She would have done a better job then Spensha and Kyla did that's for sure. But oh well still excited for tonight!

I loved Chloes single I hope for big things from her!
Congrats to Brynn on winning The Voice! Her Skyfall performance won it for her no doubt. Well done Brynn.

I can't believe it a singing show that actually judged the contestants on the night rather than going off something else.
Brynn was an obvious winner from the Knockouts imo, but fair play to her as I do feel that after Britton in the finale that she was the next best one to pick.
