Move over ‘It’ – ‘Gerald’s Game’ is 2017’s most thrilling Stephen King adaptation

I'm guessing the twist is it was the wife's plan all along?

Erm, I really enjoyed that.
I'm weird in that I have a love of movies that are limited to few settings, like all trapped within one house (or room in this case). It makes the writer much more creative IMO.
Anyway, a great storyline and...
... her ripping her hand free of the handcuffs was genuinely terrifying D: I'm awful with gore and when you saw the skin slide off and all of the tendons (?) and stuff ugh.
And I thought the dog peeling a layer off Gerald was the worst it was going to show. :worry:
I kind of got the understanding that Gerald was an arsehole and kind of abusive in his own way, but the actor was really good despite spending most of his appearance as a hallucination.
The acting was great from the lady too. All of the details added, like when she opens her mouth and her lips have to peel apart were great. :clap1: It was only after watching I realised Jessie was the mother in Spy Kids.
Then... comes the ending. :umm2:
Why was the ending all about something completely arbitrary to the actual character plot/journey? This "crypt keeper" was introduced in the second half and then we discover he's real and steals from people. Did nobody else just find this completely random and not in keeping with the film and her desperation for survival? Like.... why?
The directing was incredible though, so props for that too.
I'm also guessing the crypt keeper was intentionally designed to look like the vampires from Salem's Lot, given it's Stephen King?

Yeah, no sh*t.
Because it's like an ending to a completely different movie. :fist:

I loved it! The twist at the end was quite odd, but... better than nothing?

Just read a review where they said she should have...
Stood up as far as she could and pushed the mattress off the bed and then broke one or two of the slats underneath so she could stand on the floor and then shuffle the bed frame to either the key or the phone.
Kudos to the film though, that didn't stand out to me.

See I really like the ending you think she’s hallucinating the whole time and that it’s just the dog eating him, the fact he knew the whole time she there and didn’t help her was just so creepy
And yes OMG when her skin started to come off her hand I was like ahhhhhg
