Can someone explain the format and stuff?

It's MTV garbage where they bring back pretty much the same group of people each season, make up new rules and a new format, force feed them alcohol and make them do absurd Crossfit-type of Competitions so they can win a very minimal amount of money.

The show *used* to be great 10-15 years ago bc it was so much more lighthearted and didn't take itself seriously at all and had competitions like "sit on a block of ice for as long as possible" and "walk on a treadmill for 8 hours while covered in itching powder." Like, the show used to be 20-30 years olds going on spring break and doing random carnival games hungover, but it's gotten to the point where they pretty much try to kill each other in a drunken rage.

Lmao at this synopsis

It started with them using past personalities off if the Real World and Road Rule Challenge tv shows.... and putting them through competitions in the style of like fear factor but with way more endurance competitions over the years. The think I have always liked about it is... previous cast compete and new cast as well... so you get to follow a story arc of their lives in a way... but also there is enough flow of characters it doesn't get to boring. Now days there are new MTV shows they pull from that I've never watched... but I still enjoy it. Yes there is drinking and drama outside of the competitions... sometimes it's way to OTT.

I missed the last couple of seasons though I've seen several. The strong point of it is the challenges normally (so it certainly has the right title), which can be tough like Survivor and they do throw in new kinds of challenges. The weakest point is probably the romance angle they try and push in earlier episodes, but as it goes on they normally leave that aside and get on with making the edit about the game.
