Usually in a hurry when I go to Mcdonalds so I don't often sit down.

I never sit in unless I am drunk but I would definitely bin my rubbish, it annoys me how lazy people are.

Depends how you define "clean". I put all my rubbish in the bin, because, what decent person wouldn't? It only takes a minute. I don't wipe it down or anything, because I don't leave food on the table itself.

It's expected that you throw your tray of rubbish in the bin before you leave in fast food places because they get busy, it's common courtesy, it's not like normal restaurants with table service

Sorry but why not just always clear your table? Takes literally 5 seconds
RileyH
03-10-2017, 03:46 PM
all you have to do is put everything on your tray, empty the tray into the bin and put the tray on the shelf it literally takes less than 30 seconds
Glenn.

Always clear it. It angers me when people leave it. It’s rude to assume it’s someone else’s job. It’s like having a Chinese delivered and expecting Mr Chi to clean it up after you.

It's their job to actually clean the surfaces but as far as I'm aware there isn't a waitress service in fast food places so clearing your own rubbish is common courtesy.

Just because they are cleaners doesn't mean they have to tidy up after every single customer.
Imagine if everyone was lazy and they have to clear up after everyone? That'd suck so much

It winds me up when you see parents allowing their kids to trash the place too. Throwing ketchup packets and fries and smearing sauce on the table.
Get off your phone and get your kids under control. :nono:

This, the bins are on the way out and everything's on a tray/in a bag so there's no excuse :nono: It's also expected I think, one of the reasons you get cheap fast food like McDonalds is because the staff aren't paid to do stuff like that, like others have said it's not the same as waiters/table service in restaurants
Sorry Kate Middleton!

I mean they are working there, I don't know what their actual job description is but I don't see why I should clear up after myself when I'm eating out, that's not my job as it's their restaurant/shop or whatever.
And if it's only 5 seconds long, what's wrong with letting them do it?

It's not 5 seconds though, is it. For one member of staff to tidy every single table because people are too lazy to do it theirselves, would be a lot to ask.
I don't think fast food workers have ever complained about being bored lol, it's probably one of the busiest jobs you could get.

I clear the table all the time by putting stuff in the bin but i don’t clean the table since the cleaners do it and have the stuff.
But it doesn’t really annoy/bother me if others don’t clear up.

Sometimes the cleaners clear the table up for you when they see you finished probs because they are looking for something to do

Not even if you can't find a clear table to sit at because some lazy sod has left all their rubbish all over the place when realistically they probably walked past a bin on their way out?

Oh no  Because personally for me there’s no point in getting annoyed when it can quickly be sorted and the lazy people are not worth it. I can see why it annoys others though and i rather it didnt happen some are idiots who do it to be funny so they are not worth it for me

It's not "their" restauraunt. If you went into H&M and looked at a pair of jeans, you wouldn't just put them on the floor for a member of staff to pick up/put back.
I worked in fast food for a good 3-4 years, there's always something to be done and having to clear up after every customer bc they thought it was below themselves is massively time consuming and an annoyance.

I don't consider it as a 'lazy' way of thinking
I mean if I can see it's very busy with lots of customers waiting and they are rushed off their feet then that's when I do usually bin my stuff to help, but otherwise no if it's just an average day.

If I knock something down by accident, I would often leave it there. I don't specifically go around making trouble for these people, but it's where they are working, not me.
Sure it's helpful if people do it, I've worked in a hotel/pub/B&B before and I never expect people to do anything like that. I expect them to leave a mess and I expect to have to tidy up after people.
Marsh.

But consciously leaving rubbish on the table because you're actively thinking "oooh they're not busy. I'll leave this here even though I could drop it in a bin on the way out" is such a bizarre way of thinking. [emoji23]
It's like dropping rubbish in the street purposely under the illusion you need to keep a street cleaner in a job.
Jake.

just drape it over the rack or nearbye

The point is you can't compare hotels/pubs/B&Bs with a fast food restaurant, there's a different code of etiquette so to speak. It's the done thing to just throw your rubbish in the bin as you walk out, that's why you get trays and those bins everywhere because they get so busy and it's such a fast turn around, there generally isn't enough staff employed to clear every table before another customer needs the table, it's a quick turnover by it's very nature and that's what you're supposed to do to get cheap quick food, we're not talking about a proper sit down meal that you're paying top dollar for, if everyone thought like you and left their mess everywhere, they'd probably have to employ more staff and your food would end up costing more because of it
