The emotional effects of an extramarital relationship are explored in the first season of this provocative drama. Noah Solloway (Dominic West) is a happily married schoolteacher and novelist living in Brooklyn with his wife (Maura Tierney) and four children. Noah, who resents being dependent on his wealthy father-in-law, is trying to complete a second novel when he visits the town of Montauk on Long Island with his family. There, he meets Alison Bailey (Ruth Wilson), a pretty waitress who is trying to piece her life and marriage back together following a devastating tragedy. The two embark on a passionate affair that leads to unsettling consequences. The story of their affair is told from both Noah's and Alison's points of view, and includes their separate memory biases.

Anyone watched this? I'm onto season 2, it's excellent and if nothing else will make you want to visit Montauk Long Island

Yeah I really did. I mean the last season was ok but it focused too much on Noah and I couldn't stand his character

aw that is a shame I think devoting time to each character has worked really well in the first two seasons, especially when you see the difference in how they perceive things

Well when you watch it, let me know what you think and I can tell you properly what I mean (I don't want to spoil anything)

It wasn't the best season, but I think it wasn't so bad as I thought it would be all Noah, and while a lot of it focussed on him it wasn't as much as I was expecting,

I hated Juliette's character

Alison, Helen, Cole are my favourites

I quite like Helen's batty mother as well, when she locked them in the panic room

So the reason I disliked it so much was because of the focus being so much on Noah and then on him and Juliette who I really disliked as well and Noah just bugs the s**t out of me. I adore Cole and Alison had really grown on me since the first season but it seems like if they are going for another season they're going to be concentrating the most on Noah and Juliette who I have zero interest in. I found those scenes in Paris odd and all the crap with his daughter, that he'd just happen to bump into her like ugh. I did like Helen at the start but I went off her alot too

Noooo. I hate Whitney as well, they should focus on Martin and make a story line for him
