My only slight concern would be the obvious ‘toileting’ issues - assume it wasn’t a long-haul flight. Thoughts!

Jack, our dog, has travelled in the cabin with us when we have flow Air France... to France or from France to Italy. On the way back to the UK he would have to travel in the hold because the UK is behind the times when it comes to pet travel.
Big dogs aren't normally allowed in any airline cabin unless they are assistance dogs. I suspect the one in the picture is just that.

I don’t see a problem with it on short flights for well behaved dogs although there would need to be a tight limit on how many dogs on a flight at one time otherwise chaos could ensue.

Most airlines that accept dogs in the cabin have a rule that says you must be able to nurse the dog on your lap and they are not allowed on the seat. I'm surprised to see this dog in the picture has his own seat. I would have thought that people with large assistance dogs would be given seats at the front of the cabin where there is more leg room. That way the dog can sit on the floor.
