My town used to have an old man who would wander round dressed as Elvis, often with a singing toy in one hand, and his little dog in the other <3

Jimmy mginty...old tramp used to walk about with a blue bag..we expected scud books...

Tow murray, bar room legend..also a crazy guy who used to shoot us with his walking stick if we played knock door run on him...persistent in the chase on more than one occasion.

My mom looked after a disabled man for years,he was not all there,but one of those people who everyone knew ,he was the character of our town,he would stop everyone and chat to them,and as he was disabled he was slow in walking and talking,so you'de be stood there for ages talking to him ,he watered the towns flower baskets,did the carnivals ,we used to dress him up and he loved it,he was known locally as 'Billy' sadly he passed last halloween ,and we miss him a lot,at his funeral the whole town lined the streets and applauded him which was lovely, we also have quite a famous ghost called madame Piggot and a few years back Ozzy Osbourne had a wine bar here, it still bears his name.

This is also the pub that Craig Phillips lived in for years (winner of BB1) which is in town.

As far as I'm aware my area doesn't have anything specific now :suspect:

But I'll do Woolwich (:love:) anyway as I'd class that more as home, was mostly famous for the London riots and Lee Rigby's death.

let's see we are home to a great football club PSV, where Romario, Ronaldo, Van Nistelrooy, Van Breukelen, Afellay, current coach Phillip Cocu, Van Bommel, Gomes, Guardado, Dszudzsak, Lazovic, Kezman were notable players at, but also Guus Hiddink was a coach here for a very long time :hee:

what more can i tell about eindhoven, we have Philips and High Tech Campus a technical university for the really intelligent youth here

we have hockey team Oranje-Rood (Orange-Red), we dutch are multiple times champions of europe and world in Hockey
