For myself, cod and chips, battered sausage and chips, steak and kidney pie and chips, fish cake and chips.
Its hard to find a good chippy, best fish and chips is at a seaside town chippy.
They do great fish and chips on the pier at Brighton.

For some weird reason I call it the fishy, as it is the fish shop.
Any how, my kids were only allowed chips if they had a fish with it when they were younger..I told myself it was then a healthy meal.
Hubby gets fish and chips, I normally just have a fish, with salt and tomato sauce on, with bread and butter.

I don't go very often but when I do we have Cod and chips with mushy peas (always with scraps), or sometimes we have battered sausage and chips.
Aside from salt, what else do you guys put on your meal - vinegar or ketchup?
I prefer vinegar.

doner kebab or taco chips (can be rotten sometimes, depends on the place) or if Chinese just a 3 in 1 (chips, rice, and curry sauce)
Never get the appeal of sausages in fish and chip shops, you only ever get one sausage and it's normally pretty terrible quality
I would either just get fish and chips or my local chippy does a steak pie, chips, peas and gravy deal which I often get. Always feel awful after it though

Josy I lived in England for 2 years and all you can really get is fish suppers :worry:. Some places do pies but they're not even deep fried... and sausage but it's not even in batter! Basically, they don't have proper chippies in England. And that was Lancashire, I can only imagine what apocalyptic chippy wasteland lies further south...
But on the subject of real chippies... I am partial to a steak pie supper, black pudding supper, or a cheeky half pizza crunch. Which for the uninitiated... is half of a cheap arse pizza deep fried in batter. When they're done right they're amazing... hahaha.

They look so horrendous :joker:.
That said, I've kind of gone off chippy chips. There's one opposite my work and I've had one too many I think, haven't really been able to stomach them for over a year.

Yeah I will beg and cry before we get a chippy. Usually only get one in the week running up to Christmas when every other takeaway has been exhausted and we're busy and need to grab and eat.
