A suspect has been arrested in New York after people were reportedly shot by the driver of a car.
Police said they made the arrest after responding to "reports of shots fired" near the West Side Highway in Lower Manhattan.
They urged people to avoid the area as a major emergency services operation was under way.
Unconfirmed reports on social media suggest a man drove at cyclists in a cycling lane before opening fire.
The number of casualties is at present unknown.

As much as some refuse to acknowledge it the more we allow in the more this will happen, especially when we open the floodgates to thousands/millions of undocumented migrants. We are as good as signing the death warrants of many Innocent people in the West.

Even if Trump's travel restrictions had come into effect, it wouldn't stop this as Uzbekistan isn't on the list. But yeah, Trump says the USA needs to implement extreme vetting of people from muslim countries.

They are, but to knowingly substantially increase the risk by opening our doors to people from high risk countries whose histories are unknown is madness. Those making these decisions and those that support them have played a part in these tradegies in my opinion. They put us all at risk.
