My flights were pretty uncomfortable as it was and that was 5x the price..

We fly to NY quite a bit,so cheaper flights will always be something I'de look at.

I love NY but I go to NY to shop and because the British pound is only worth $1.3 atm I wouldn't see the point.

If you're booking in advance (3 months+) you can usually sneak tickets to NYC for about £200-£250 anyway (one way). I'd rather just pay the extra £100 and skip having to make a stopover in Iceland like these tickets demand.
I actually just got tickets to there for £180 one way 2 months ago, for this month. You can also fly to Stewart International which is a couple of hours outside of NYC for quite a bit cheaper.
