He has Alzheimer's doesn't he ? and had a problem with alcohol , lovely looking bloke in his day.

He was lovely looking - quite an icon of his time. Hope he makes it - he is still young at 67.

Sad to hear he is critically ill.
A good while ago he was interviewed on This Morning and he seemed so near distraught.

I hoped he'd be able to turn things around,clearly he is really ill.

David didn't like the bankruptcy line of questioning but it was clear David wasn't feeling good then.

A great talent,it's so sad he has reached this unfortunate point.

One of my Sister in laws was mad on him and a song I really like of his is Ricky's Tune.

However he also was really great in the musical 'blood Brothers, my Mum and Grandmother went to see it on Broadway as it starred Petula Clark in the 90s.
David and his Brother Shaun played Mrs Johnson's 2 sons.
Petula played their Mother,Mrs Johnson.

They rated David's performance very highly,such a shame thinking of the talent he has.
It seems he is desperately ill now.

David Cassidy posters adorned the walls of my bedroom as a teenager. He was my idol.
I saw him at Wembley some years ago along with David Essex, The Osmonds and Bay City Rollers.. He was nervous and frail then. From what I remember in his hey day he had a fan die at one of his concerts, being crushed and he rarely made an appearance after that until many years later.
Lovely looking bloke with a lovely voice...I just think he struggled to cope with the stardom.
Sad news.

I remember his dad's tragic death.
He fell asleep drunk on the sofa and dropped his cigarette, they had to identify his charred body by his teeth.

Maybe someone a bit premature with the news when they heard his family had been called back to the hospital.:shrug:

US actor and singer David Cassidy, who found fame in The Partridge Family before going on to become a 1970s pop idol, has died aged 67.

"David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long," a family statement said.

He was admitted to hospital last week after suffering multiple organ failure.

Earlier this year the singer said he had dementia and would stop touring in order to "enjoy life".

Cassidy shot to fame playing Keith Partridge in The Partridge Family - a 1970s sitcom about a mother and five children who formed a rock and roll band.

The show spawned several hit songs, such as I Think I Love You.

In recent years he has spoken about his struggles with alcohol.
