She did get full stars before the live trial tbf

I rather watch people who struggle with the trials than people who can do it without a problem. Not here for them having good food every night

I agree, people used to moan about the serial trialists and they even switched to solely app-voting to try and combat it, but all it's done is make the show even duller than it already is

Last series was absolutely diabolical because they always did so well in the trials, they were always eating and sitting round signing ****ing kumbaya and it was ****. If it weren't for Martin literally nothing would've happened

Rob!

I don't mind if they scream and struggle through it and come away with just one or two stars, but the trials are the best thing about the show. I want to see them. The likes of Helen quitting the second an ant lands on her, it's like why are you there?

I remember when Ant told Helen she has to get the stars from her mouth but she used her hands and ignored Ant and Dec :joker:

yeah i agree, i did like last series but not as much as i did years ago because everyone was good at the trials even the serial trialist Adam. I see the same thing happening this year unless Gemma is actually going back. They all go at each other when they are hungry.

Last series was ****e tbh, it was obvious from the second she was announced that Scarlett was going to win, so it was just a cause of seeing which order the others went in. First series I've stopped watching half way tbh

tbf I liked Helen and it was quite funny the first few times but it got boring and repetitive around the hamster one which she refused

but when she completed the trial but broke the rules so it didn't count <3

The serial trialist shtick used to be entertaining at first when you had Janice Dickinson and Gillian McKeith and Sinitta, but in recent years it's just bored me.

It wasn't entertaining when it was Adam last year, or Kendra the year before or Joey Essex.

It wasn't though. We didn't even get to see half the trials.

If she gave them all a go and flopped fair enough but she didn't.

She didn't struggle, she refused to do most of them like a brat.

I'd have agreed with you years ago but honestly the trials got boring for me a long time ago, they're just the same concepts rethemed each series. There's only so many times someone being covered in cockroaches is funny/entertaining and most of them got old very quickly. It's only Celebrity Cyclone I look forward to these days, and even that is becoming a little tired (it was never as good as its predecessor Hell Hill either)

So I don't really mind if the trials aren't completed tbh, all I care about is that they go hungry. And if that's through someone flat out refusing to do it, it often pisses them off more so even better :joker:

I remember when Ant told Helen she has to get the stars from her mouth but she used her hands and ignored Ant and Dec :joker:

It's amazing to contrast 2015 which was the best series for years with 2016 which is in contention for worst ever

It wasn't though. We didn't even get to see half the trials.

If she gave them all a go and flopped fair enough but she didn't.

Like I said to Rob though, the trials are just the same old crap recycled every year, I don't really find them entertaining in and of themselves anymore - they're just a vehicle for a celebrity to hopefully produce some entertaining reactions/consequences. But I do get that if you like the trials it would annoy you

Rob!

Tbf, I do agree with you to a point about the trials, but then I would say the same about the show as a whole. It needs a bit of a kick up the backside. Even the titles have been the same for nearly ten years now.

Oh the whole show stale, I don't get the hype it gets every year at all

Ant and Dec's links are the best thing about it, and tbh if it weren't for them this show would be down at least 4 million viewers because the format is beyond tired

Doing it wrong, fair enough. But just flat out refusing to take part in a TV show she is being paid to do wasn't entertaining, it was completely unnecessary.

Also saying the trials are just similar themes repackaged well that goes for most RTV. How many times can you watch 12 people evict one another from a house? Or vote to eliminate singers from Simon Cowell's pocket. It's not really the point imo.

She got full stars one time and got 1-4 on some and then quit some. She did it all.

But Helen not doing the trials was entertaining?

Yes...I don't care for the trials, therefore I don't care if they're completed. I see the trials only as a vehicle for entertainment, either through a celebrity's reaction to them (maybe like Kim or Lady C), or through the consequences they produce (i.e. the celebrity doing crap or refusing to do it meaning the camp goes hungry). And I much prefer the latter, all I'm interested in is them not getting any food, I don't care how it happens.

Helen refusing to do the trials was entertaining precisely because the whole camp got fed up with her and their hunger led to conflicts.

That's not the same at all. I'm talking about the production of a reality show, you're talking really about the contestants on reality shows. The trials are stale because they're the same concepts recycled, hell in the context of Big Brother a lot of the tasks have been repeated (I'm sick of the fish guts nonsense), but both BB and X Factor (and IAC) can still produce a perfectly good series if they get the cast right. Look at BB10, one of the worst produced series ever but the cast managed to carry it on their own.

I'm not. I'm talking about production.
It's the same thing every year on most of the major RTV shows.

I thought it was going to be one of Janice Dickinson's trials when I opened the thread  She is the queen of IAC as far as I'm concerned.
