Cut it out, GiRTh.

~~ posted a link to pics of former BB Housemates. I fail to see how that can be considered 'cr*p'.

It's fine Kaz honest. He is just taking the mick. He does it all the time.

^^Yes. Baz is somewhat prolific in opening threads on this forum. I was only making fun of that^^

Problem is some people then think it is the way to behave and they do the same thing to someone who doesn't take it the same way. We have to be more careful how we behave as we approach BB8 because of the new members who we don't know as well as the old members. Happens every year.

You have to be an example of goodness Lads

Oh I know that. As I have already said in another thread, sometimes posts are misconstrued. He was only having a laugh. If we can't do that then we may as well pack up. There has been some good threads lately where I have enjoyed them immensely just by takin the P (in a good way, and not out of other members), and just having a laugh. And other members have joined in, having a laugh too. He was having a go at me only, and I know how to take him. Nothing malicious. But I understand that new members may not see it like that. Where do you draw the line?

^^Great post^^

I hear what Red is saying and I hope that Kaz realises I was not intending to cause any disrespect. I would be grateful if she acknowledges this. It's a shame that the more insulting members of the forum are allowed much more leeway than two friends who take the mick out of each other.

There is no easy answer. The line is where Kaz drew it.

When you take the piss, as you say it, the line becomes muddy and at some point someone will report your post not understanding your friendship. Worse than that they will step in not knowing it is a bit of fun and it will go to far and someone will get a warning. How do people that don't know you determine if it's fun or it is insulting behaviour.

A good place for having a laugh is the Lounge thread. It much more chit chat than the rest of the place and a good place to play. You can talk about every thing and anything and say what you like as long as you don't directly insult people. It also one of the few personal threads on the site. Most of the others are subject driven.

Just be aware that if anyone looks like crossing the boundaries of fun and taking the piss little messages will get left on threads or on posts which could also edited.

It doesn't mean you can't have fun, it just another sort fun. The fun we have talking about BB8. The type you like will return later in the year when BB8 has finished.

Yeah. Like the chill zone (I won't roll eyes). Anyway. I get what you are saying. We need to be on our best behaviour for BB8, as a lot of new members will be coming here. We don't want to put them off. G will be a good lad now won't you G?

Red Moon
12-05-2007, 01:25 PM
What you are doing now is fine..... if a little off topic..... LOL

BTW the Chill zone wasn't that it couldn't have been reopened but that pruning out the posts that needed to be removed would have put a strain on the server let alone the web browser at the the other end. It was easier to close it down and start again. There must be near to 4000 posts that would have to be found and displayed.

Duly acknowledged, GiRTh. Have sent you a U2U.

I see what Red is saying and I'd never be that obstinate. I agree that we've got to tone it down for BB8. Lots of new forum member yada yada. I'm on board.

It just seems that we're walking on eggshells around this forum. We can't post negative comments about certain people or a riot ensues. You all know my feelings on this so I won't repeat myself.

We were just having fun I understand how it may have been misconstrued. I will try confine my having fun to certain thread from now on.

Thanks GiRTh. I'm sure Kaz will answer your points privately.

Now how do we get back on topic...... how about.

It so strange the press are so interested in people that are has been as far as Celebrity Status goes. You think they would be putting them down and not bigging them up!

GiRTh
12-05-2007, 02:40 PM
Yes Red. But these people have very good PR who manage to keep them in the public eye. I think that the people who read the likes of OK are so fickle that if the celebs were out of the limelight for too long they'd forget about them. Hence, why such a nothing event as this is being widely covered.

Red Moon
12-05-2007, 02:52 PM
Most of the readership of OK magazine are in Doctors waiting rooms as far I can see. I don't know what sort of people would read such stuff unless they are bored and ill. It is not exactly a riveting read. It's more like a comic for grown ups about plastic people with plastic lives.

GiRTh
12-05-2007, 02:53 PM
Indeed.

I can read it cover to cover while getting my groceries checked out.

Mrluvaluva
12-05-2007, 03:09 PM
I don't read it. But know other people do. That is why I posted this thread in the 1st place.

GiRTh
12-05-2007, 03:13 PM
^^What you on about^^

We were debating whether it was a worthwile publication./ Red and me both think it isn't. How say you?

Mrluvaluva
12-05-2007, 03:39 PM

GiRTh
12-05-2007, 03:40 PM
You agree then. A worthless publication glorifying worthless celebrities.

Mrluvaluva
12-05-2007, 03:44 PM
If it floats your boat then I have no problem with people reading it. It doesn't appeal to me so I don't read it.

GiRTh
12-05-2007, 03:49 PM
We agree.

I read it but only while waiting for groceries.

Mrluvaluva
12-05-2007, 03:56 PM
So you said.

The advantage of reading like that are two fold. Firstly you can pick it up as you join the queue and put it back before you pay for it and secondly you don't have to be at the doctors and and risk catch nasty illnesses from the person sitting next to you.

win win situation!

GiRTh
12-05-2007, 04:03 PM
You've sussed me Red. I do pick up Ok as I join the queue then put it down as I'm checking out. I think everybody should do this and put them out of business by not buying it.
