nimax theater's ban noisy food 06.12.17
dear lord you replied
i no i stick in you like a thorn
but popping me off you denied
now you take the hate popcorn.
noise is a racket
not there to hear wrappers
ingenious to change the packet
its going to rid the inconsiderate flappers.
not to sure its fruitful
still will be a scrum
people attend to eat and its brutal
not copping is my ear drum.
on the right road
but you need to be firmer
crunching in my ear roll will explode
all food and drink needs a ban like playing cards in buma.
then all will appreciate
no food and drink rule will ever axe
not at the theater to eat drink or communicate
if you listen you will hear pounds nimax.

If I have someone sitting behind me with a crackly bag, its like all my focus zooms in on that. I hate noisy food in the cinema and theatre.

Tbf, most movies are around 90 minutes long.
Ok, have a little bottle with a drink or whatever but you can go to the cinema and not eat for 90 minutes.
Most of the time, whenever I go we go out for something to eat either just before or straight after anyway.

It drives me mad. Crunching and rustling every time you go to the cinema or the theatre. Some people just don't know how to behave. It's not nearly as annoying as people who use their mobile in a cinema or theatre though.

The best part of going to the cinema is getting cinema popcorn :fist:

I always get popcorn :hee: however I think a lot of this is down to serving choice.
I usually go to the local Vue, the popcorn there comes in a cardboard thing and is relatively quiet. But this week we went to see Justice League and had to venture a bit further out to Cineworld (Vue had no showings that fell within school hours) and the popcorn came in a paper bag, which was noisy af.
That said, there are a few reasons that I consider it fine for me:
1) I don't watch quiet films at the cinema. I only really go to see "loud films" e.g. action / sci-fi / suprpowahs at the cinema... I'd rather watch slower paced, more dialogue-heavy films at home once they're released.
2) I'm "considerate" and I only really start going to town on the popcorn during action scenes so no one can hear me anyway. When it goes quieter I don't make noise.
3) I tend to go to the cinema on Monday or Tuesday afternoons, during term-time. So usually the nearest person to me is 4 or 5 rows away - and sometimes I'm the only person there :joker:.

Yeah, popcorn's okay if it's in a cardboard cup thingy... but no rustley plastic bags and wrappers please. And nothing that smells... no burgers or anything.
Off-topic, but tenuously linked... I used to work with a bloke who used to cook fish in the microwave at work every day. Stunk the whole office out. What a git! We all took it turns to have a word.

All that haggis and scotch has dulled your taste buds, LT.

The cinema I go to uses paper bags for the popcorn, it's not noisy though and like TS most films I see at the cinema are pretty loud ones anyway, also I always sit at the edge of the row with Gav on the other side of me, I'm a considerate popcorn eater :hee:

If I had to choose one food to live off for the rest of my life it would be popcorn (salted or butter only)

You may sit alongside me then, Niamh. It's like anything else, smoking, for instance... you just have to be considerate.
I love salty popcorn too. Bought myself a popcorn maker and it's one of the few kitchen gadgets I have that I actually use.

That would be dangerous for me though, I had to stop buying the microwave popcorn, I was eating too much of it
