Has anyone else read about Keaton Jones? the young guy left in tears by bullies but now loads of celebs have reached out to support him (Hailee Steinfeld has invited him to be her date to The Pitch Perfect 3 premier) it's such a nice story.

Anyway my question is have you ever been bullied?
Matthew.

I mean a colleauge at work went out of her way to not include me but I wouldn’t class it as bullying, just being a cow
As for high school, because that’s when a lot of bullying happens, I was never really picked on either. I wasn’t part of the it crowd, however I was part of a group that was liked by the it crowd, so I was fine

Nope. I was pretty quiet in school but also sort of the 'leader' of my group who a few of them complained I 'bullied' them. :omgno: (I didn't though, they were just really sensitive people and overreacted to everything and accused many people of bullying)

Not really, i went to a fairly rough school but i was always able to talk my way out of things and there were plenty of bully fodder kids who were more in line. I never bullied anyone i hasten to add

I was just a bit sarcastic and cocky and got on people's nerves a bit but I was never bullied

Nope, have been accused of being a bully a few of times though and it really isn't nice. A lot of people just loosely use the term 'Bullying' now without context, all three times were when I was having a simple joke (on one isolated occasion) and had been reprimanded and branded a 'bully' by others. I accept the fact that those I joked with may have been offended but to cry 'bullying' was disgusting.

I was bullied pretty badly in high school, a few times physically (hair pulled, pusged over and slapped) and once by a boy 2 years older than me (punched in the head and spat at) for fighting his sister who had pushed me over a wall
I was overweight at the time and got called names on a daily basis. It got pretty bad when Pitch Perfect came out and I was 'fat amy' the stupidest thing was when I lost weight after the same people called me anorexic. Idiots.

What are the chances of everyone else getting it wrong that many times though?
People were really nasty at my school. It was a boarding school and the way some people were treated, including myself was disgusting. I got mocked for my appearance, punched on my arms and more.

Three kids tried to bully me over the course of primary school - one got whupped by an older cousin, I dealt with the others and got a half-hearted ticking off by the head each time, haha.
In secondary I wasn't exactly Mr Popular, but I was never really excluded or bullied.
When I worked in a clothing store it was a really bitchy atmosphere, like in break I was chatting with one of the girls, and another sat at the table and said to her "why are you sitting alone?" I didn't really care, but in general most of my colleagues were bitches.
No not really I loved school and had loads of gal pals.

Never been bullied or picked on tbh. Was always bang in the middle of the 'popularity ladder' lol.

That video was sweet but part of me wishes Hollywood would stop hopping on one single bandwagon and instead give some time and love to other kids who are bullied, rather than "the most famous one right now". Screams of opportunism.
I wasn't really bullied as a child, had one boy in the year above make fun of my shoes one time (those trainers that flashed, called Bull Boys lol) but he was clearly just jealous :hmph: I do think there's a lot of selective memory when everyone remembers their school days though: for the most part, the playground is a nightmare when it comes to kids being nasty little bastards and I don't doubt I was one of them.

I was picked on and called names, received racist abuse of a black student in school because I was really pale. Even a fat kid bullied me. I think the worst thing someone did, well two guys, was spit in my hair. People used to make up rumours about me like I was a gypsy who lived in a caravan which was NOT TRUE and also the gay rumours etc which were. I was ugly but I didn’t deserve to be bullied for it!
Also at the same time I wasn’t a saint, there was a hugely fat girl and I laughed when some others girls bullied her. I should have stuck up for her but I guess I was just happy it wasn’t me.

What's the source for him saying racist stuff?
All I've seen is the family picture of the family holding the confederate and USA flags, and until fairly recently the confederate flag was seen as neutral rather than a symbol of racism.

So, sure, Keaton may be the vicious victim of bullying (and also may have called a few classmates the n-word, which was noted on Kimberly’s Facebook page before she closed it)
And are you ACTUALLY going to claim that the confederate flag isn’t racist? When it’s founder LITERALLY states as such
referred to later as "The White Man's Flag."In explaining the white background, Thompson wrote, "As a people we are fighting to maintain the Heaven-ordained supremacy of the white man over the inferior or colored race; a white flag would thus be emblematical of our cause."

As recently as 2015 a majority of people saw it as a symbol of Southern pride rather than a racist symbol.

They can see it for whatever they like, that doesn’t mean it isn’t racist :laugh3:

I wonder if whoever made that started the edit before or after the "racism" stuff came to light. Incidentally, he posted an apology on behalf of his mother:

Don't know what on earth possessed people other than a misplaced sense of "doing something against bullying" to donate money to the kid's mother. Like an XBOX is going to solve bullying. ****ing lunatics.

I sprouted very early and was 6ft by the time I was 13 which made me kind of unbullyable I guess. Some kids at my school had it pretty rough, though... It was a fairly "well off" state school and the situation was kind of flipped from a lot of schools; if you were intelligent, well-off or both you were fine... If you were rough or in the bottom ability sets then not so much. I can think of 4 or 5 in my year group who had a seriously bad time all the way through... And no one really did anything to help them . Teachers blatantly saw it happening and didn't give a ****.

When I was 12, I was like the only POC in my class...so I obviously got bullied a lot, but only by some people, due to my racial background, however I didn't give a **** to contact them once I left Primary school, and I don't know what they are doing now.

My older brother bullied me, my mother was a violent nutter, so I was well equipped if anyone dared to try it on with me at school or in later life.
I never bullied anyone, but was a fighter if needed.

I've been reading about this story and some people are saying it was a scam thought up by the mother to make money. Apparently she's a bit of a racist :worry:
