When do you open your Christmas Presents?

We sit with the Christmas lights on, a hot choc and open ours after midnight, its our own tradition that we started the first year we were together and have just continued it ever since, then on Christmas morning we are up have breakfast and then get ready to go out, we aren't back home then until the following day so wouldn't have time to open our presents then anyway.

as a kid it was stockings in the bedroom and then downstairs for a mad open

now i open as the day goes on, im in no rush

ideally id like to open them all on my own but i guess i have to open with people watching me, which I hate

Both sound bloody lovely!

We have a real fire so that goes on, a tray with a pot of tea and all sit around the sofas opening presents and leaving the wrapping paper for the dogs to play with (why do dogs love wrapping paper btw?) and it's just bloody lovely really.

Always used to get up really early (like 4am or something) and open them with my mom, this year I won't really have anything to open though so it'll just be like a normal day

Christmas morning, come down light the fire and open them. This year the kids have started a new tradition of doing a secret Santa with a small budget between us all and we're going to open those one Christmas Eve

Usually back in the day, we opened them on Christmas Eve at the evening when everything else was done.

@marc

on a serious note as you are in the christmas wilderness years before you get a partner and have children etc and the fact you are too old to get pressies and toys etc now is a great time to volunteer for a Christmas charity and do something for others on Christmas day?

Normally open one on Christmas Eve.
Stockings when we wake up before going downstairs.
The rest of the presents get opened at whatever time the kids get up, which could be anywhere from 8 until midday, depending on their laziness and my patience.:joker:

Christmas morning. My Nan makes boiling bacon sandwiches and sausage rolls for when we have a little break in between.

Christmas morning....my son asks every half hour from around 4am if we can get up, usually cave around 6 but make him wait till I make a brew then the mad hour starts. The rest of the day usually consists of me moaning about the amount of packaging that toys come with, trying ti find the batteries I bought and building stuff.

depending on how old he is you should get your son to make the brew before they can open them :fan:
