The 'Total Drama' Franchise is RUINED (@Epic, Lilbro)

Teletoon in Canada and Cartoon Network in the US have teamed up with Fresh TV in Canada and Cake in the UK for a new instalment in the Total Drama animation franchise.

Total Drama Daycare (52×11′) is currently in production and will re-introduce characters from the original Total Drama series as toddlers.

It will premiere on Turner-owned Cartoon Network in the US and Corus Entertainment-owned Teletoon in Canada in 2018.

The franchise was created by Fresh TV’s Tom McGillis and Jennifer Pertsch and began with Total Drama Island in 2007.

This has been followed up by Total Drama Action, Total Drama World Tour, Total Drama: Revenge of the Island, Total Drama All-Stars and Total Drama: Pahkitew Island.

The whole point of TD was it's satirical (I think that's the word) spin on Reality TV and how it mimicked the likes of Big Brother, Survivor and The Amazing Race. This should've never happened. It can no longer be taken seriously.

Tbh I'm with Riley. I think this is a perfect way to get all the cast together and allows all the cast to interact for 53 episodes, with no eliminations this means friendships and relationships can develop a lot, and while I love the challenges, I think seeing different characters we've known and loved for over a decade interact will be great!! (Beth and Izzy have no notable interaction yet we know they're together in the same season this time so we could be seeing them interact!!)

Besides, this could be the only way we'll see Ezekiel and Dakota in human form again, if they are in it. I personally find that interesting!! Dakota's development got good until they threw it away to make some stupid point that you don't need to be typically beautiful to be happy or whatevz.

Gwen literally admitted she kissed Courtney's boyfriend for 3 episodes straight after kissing Duncan in TDWT and her first line in TDAS is "it wasn't her boyfriend at the time!!" Like?? Oh Courtney's competitive and it was always established she would take the prize money over even her boyfriend, even back in TDDDDI. My main issue is that she voted herself off in an attempt to make up for the list... which was blown way out of proportion by the rest of the cast, and I don't see why an organised Courtney would leave that chart out and about for Mal to find

Oh and as for Heather, my issues come into play in episode 5 and 6. I've been confused for 4 years now and your judgement and analysis is always on point so I'm hoping you can explain this to me, but WHY did Heather let go of the bridge to see if Alejandro cared enough to catch her? Did She fall accidentally? Because the "ha! I knew you still cared" implies she did it purposely as a test... like why would she risk her life for that?

And I know Heather has always played a risky game, but her leaving the Immunity Idol just didn't make sense? Like I doubt it'd fit in one of her pockets but literally anyone could've found it

Unpopular opinion but I don't really like Harold. That said, TDA did wonders for his character and if a man had to win TDA, I would rather him than Duncan. The only change I would have to TDA would be to have a bit more conflict between Harold and Courtney, I know his meddling in her TDI elimination had some sorta resolve in Haute camp-ture but given Courtney returned to TDA because Harold cheated her out of TDI, some sort of acknowledgement and tension between the two would've been nice

Maybe my judgement is clouded (Sierra >>>> Cody imo) somehow, but Cody seemed to have some respect. He said he didn't mind Gwen being with Trent, because, as long as she was happy, he was happy (which is a very ****boy thing to say but meh I'll take it for what it is) and Cody made an effort to pair Gwen and Trent up. YES in that episode he had the nerve to ask her for a bra, but at least he didn't take it upon hisself to get him her bra himself (this point is only valid if Sierra went through Cody's underwear, and I'm sure she has? She has taken a picture of him in the shower though which is creepier than Cody ever did)
All this doesn't mean I don't like Sierra. She is interesting and enjoyable!!

And I know, that's what I'm referring to, but she just seems to 'stop' playing Heather, and that comment shown she had it in her to play people while remaining nice and in character. I just think that a chirpy character who knows how to play the game would've made a nice change given how vindictive the antagonists of previous seasons can be

A lot of TD fans criticize the love triangle for "ruining" the season and that Duncan had no reason to return, despite the fact that his return was when the season actually had a drama aspect to it whereas beforehand it was just comedy + Alejandro. The love triangle got pretty much the whole cast involved and was a huge turning point in the season and i'm baffled about the amount of hate it gets

This is just my preference because objectively TDA is better than TDI!! Most characters were nothing short of stereotypes in TDI but TDA developed pretty much everyone into their own character but I just HATE the setting and challenges of TDA (also I don't like how Gwen was eliminated... yeah it was in character for her to feel guilty but she didn't tell Trent to **** up challenges)

I just don't like how it was handled, but I can appreciate it for what it did. If Gwen and Courtney's friendship was believable and had more substance than a mutual hate for Heather, their breakdown would have been waay more dramatic and therefore more entertaining. A part of me is petty Courtney went over Duncan in China, though. Courtney's been hard done by each season and while she definitely shouldn't have won TDWT, she deserved to have outperformed her ****ty ex, even if there was one elimination between them.
