Honestly this show was dead for so long but now a new season AND a new spinoff is being released and I've spoke to at least 3 Total Drama fans and Honestly? I just feel like Robert will have a few strong words about this:

To my understanding, the situation is:
A 6th season is confirmed
This is a spinoff, not the 6th season
Currently, the spinoff is the only season currently in development

I've been watching since 2009 and I am highly dissapointed. I came from the 'Total Drama Community' when I joined TiBB and used to make Total Drama videos too.

They consider TDPI and TDAS as both season 5 bc they started production at the same time but I say there’s 5 seasons cause TDAS doesn’t exist to me as it was trsdh

Can someone explain this show?

Basically it's a cartoon survivor pretty much? A bunch of teenagers (between 13 cast members, and 22 cast members) are split between two teams and compete in life threatening challenges. The losing team sit around a campfire and vote each other off in The Outhouse Confessional (it's basically the Diary Room, but it's a toilet). Everyone save gets a marshmallow to toast (in some series it's changed to a trophy of the host, or a bag of peanuts) and then the loser getes sent home.

The final is based on a challenge and not a Jury Vote.

Then there was a spin off last year (or the year before icr) with was called The Ridonculous Race and follows the same format as TAR.

So is it made up and the producers pick a winner for the story?

Sort of. The final 2 tends to be voted by people as to who should win, with the winner depending on which country gets it (although if you watch it it's pretty obvious who the intended winners are). The one exception to this is Ridonculous Race (their Amazing Race parody) since that had a Final 3 and also it was blatantly obvious which team were the official winners as the runner-ups were last minute returnees
