This looks good, I'll give the first episode a watch.
The trailer reminds me of Some Girls.

1,2 & 6 were the best eps, the eps where they aren’t at strong aren’t as strong imo, the nun and the prissy girl are really good supporting cast members.
Can anyone explain the end tho, why were they showing the bombing (was anyone else hoping the old man had been killed btw? He’s such a **** :fist:) as a montage with the girls dancing :conf2:

I've only just got into DG, watched the whole series tonight and I love it! Def a new fav of mine now.
The ending was brilliant too, so touching and fitting for the time the show was set. Shows the girls innocence and perhaps defiance in what was going on on their doorstep.

"Who the **** is Kemal?"
"He's a wee Ethiopian fella from Ballybofey"
Can't wait for Series 2.

Was watching a S1 episode the other day, when they set the chip woman's curtains on fire so the Mam and Auntie staged a hostage situation.
"Shall we knock them about a bit? Nothing drastic just a few slaps? Not even the wee gay fella?" :laugh3:
Found a clip!

It's quite similar to The Inbetweeners, but with girls.
Really? I guess I'll give it a try then. Your review of it seems to sway me
Should i watch series 1 though first?

It would be better to start at the beginning.
Tony you NEED to watch it
Just read about it and it's only 35 minutes and there's only 6 episodes
I'll watch the first 3 episodes later and finish off the rest tomorrow just before it returns
If it's anything like the Inbetweeners, then that's fantastic
Tony Montana
04-03-2019, 09:33 PM
It's set in Northern Ireland during the troubles in the early nineties. There's lots of classic songs from that time in it.
It's funny
Are the girls similar to Will, Jay, Neil and Simon?
Tony Montana
04-03-2019, 09:41 PM
Obviously not totally, but they do all have their individual traits.
To be honest, I'm just speaking from memory of only seeing it once, which was when the first series aired.
I probably should and will watch it again myself.
The Inbetweeners was the thing it seemed most similar to, to me. But you could find it totally different.
Ok I'm about to watch the first episode now
I'll let you know what I think of it

Just finished watching it. I cried loads as it reminded me of my own Teenage hood and being the only boy in a group of girls who were my absolute best friends I can identify with James identifying as being a Derry girl. Cried even more when Enya started playing. Cried even more when I found out it was the last in the series

I actually think they could do a successful movie spin-off of this one day, like how The Inbetweeners did. Maybe I'm jumping the gun but I just think the writing/casting/everything is more than good enough for it.

Oh most definitely, I just hope they wouldn’t do the typical ‘girls holiday’ route and do something a bit different/more interesting. It’s a hell of a lot better written/more clever ideas than The Inbetweeners so idk how it wouldn’t work.
