Will all the old member's who never posted or only posted a little bit ever be removed from the TiBB member database?

I don't think they should. You never know, these people could decide to come back and start posting again, only to find their account has been deleted. Not a good idea.

Members that register and never login are removed every so often. The members that have logged in with zero posts remain.

Im sure it would also be a strain on the admins to delete what must be at least a few hundred accounts.

It can be done automatically someone just has to write the SQL statement and run it. It does produce server load and now wouldn't be the time to do it.

Its annoying cos I want the username Chris, but some oldie already has it:bawling:

^ Even if you did change to Chris, you'll always be Chrizzle on here.

I'm not too sure what happens to members who have, say, 1000+ posts but haven't come on in years. I expect people like that stay, but those old members with few or no posts don't, which is the majority of them anyway.

I would like Matt... suppose I'll have to put up with Matt™ for now :)

If the old inactive accounts were deleted that had posts in them then the posts wouldn't any owner and would appear that way on the board. It just wouldn't work for example one of the inactive posters has nearly 9000 posts. It's just not going to happen with regard to the inactive users with posts.

Chris why not go for chris with the trade mark symbol?

I wonder if anyone can explain this little mystery to me.
Soon after I joined I noticed another member named JC who posted like he had been here quite a while. When I look up members alphabetically I find this member but not myself. He has 1012 posts and he last posted 3-1-07.

Do any of you older members know who I mean and did any of you think that we were one and the same person ? :spin2:

Word from James in a U2U I got this morning is currently the only names that could be reallocated are those of members that have never logged in.

Shame really, it's very unlikely that old members who have only posted once will ever return.

But you can change back if this chris ever decides to come back, which I highly doubt.

It just doesnt make sense. A good username going to waste.

You need to take that up with James, but he can't get on the site at the moment.

In any case I would miss seeing Chrizzle on the board that is who you are. Just like L is always going to be Stropz to me. Your handle is everything and I find it hard to understand why people want to lose their identity by changing there username.

Hmm thats true. I am Chrizzle. Yeah, your right. I wont change it:laugh:
