View Full Version : How much can you drink?

nodisharmony

Go on?

Tell us:wink:

1 pint, 2 pints, 3 pints, 4 pints, 5 pints, 6 pints, 7 pints, more..

It is awful when you drink too much and be sick:yuk:

But some people never get like that and can almost drink themselves sober.

How can you really do that?

Drink yourself sober, that is?

I just can't drink too much, otherwise I hate it:mad:

I can drink a bottle of wine and a bottle of vodka when I am in the mood. But I do not do that so often as it is excessive!

I tried the 10 pints of Guiness challenge on St. Patrick's day. (you got a 'free' hat if you do it). I drunk 8 before I realized that I didn't actually want the hat, and I was feeling pretty bloated

Damn.. was it 10 pints? My brother brought me 2 hats back from the pub last year. But I think it was only 6 pints a hat...

Still, that means he drunk 12 pints of guiness :yuk:

Oh, and for all you Englishmen who think we scots are all drunkards.. I'm a lightweight. One bottle of beer does me, and if I drink 2, I fall asleep..

They will be collectibles soon with the smoking ban in pubs!

The worst part for smokers, is:-

One puff of a cigarette

One sip of a drink

One puff of a cigarette

One sip of a drink

and so on & so on & so on........

BUT, when the smoking ban arrives, it will be a different experience:thumbs:

They will take their drinks outside and the pub will smell of stale beer instead of stale fags.

Lets hope you can't smell the toilets.

You can though. In some of the s***hole pubs up here, that's all you can smell now..

Red Moon

I feel sorry for the pubs, just outside of Scotland or Wales, where down the road, Smoking is banned, but on the other side, where it is part of England, you can smoke.

The Non-smoking pub must be struggling?

But will some past heavy drinkers drink less, with the smoking ban? "The ones who smoke" that is?

It's right they are doing it for the people that work in the pubs but I hope they consider the smokers too and give them somewhere to stand out of the rain.

I think it's in my culture to drink, as you know, my father is russian so sometimes we drink vodka together, but we are not drunk after. It's just a pleasure, I have the habit to do that !
During parties, or clubbing, the thing is, I drink too much maybe, as lemon-vodka, Manzanita or Whisky-coke. I'm not drunk every week-end lol. By the way, i love beer too, I can drink 4 liters in one night, but I'm really in an other world after LOL. I'm a specialist if wine too, that's my french side lol, I love awesome wines, their colours, their taste, it's just fantastic. But I'm never drunk with this.
The vodka is my favourite between all the drinks I've ever met !

Hi Remy:thumbs:

I can't drink Vodka on it's own, it tastes like Acid:yuk: Not that I've tried Acid like:laugh: But It's better with something else, Lime preferably:bigsmile:

I know that it is a lot easy for some people to drink & drink when they are socialising in a pub or club. But when it's just sitting and relaxing at home with yourself or your partner, usually there is a tolerable limit.

I started this topic, just to see how much someone could drink, without puking up:yuk: or like I said earlier, "drink yourself sober", whether anybody has on here? It would be nice to know how much you really need to consume to get to that stage.

I have been on a few benders in my time and you can drink yourself in to a state
that resembles sober. Of course you are not but you appear to be to others. I have a few mates that are managers of pubs so lock ins happen quite alot. It is not unusual to leave the pub as the cleaners are getting there.

Myself, I am no good at knocking pints back in one. I just can't do it, but I can keep going when others start to flag. Yes i drink too much. I know that. But I don't smoke, I eat fairly well and I am fit and not over weight.

I am a larger and Vodka man. Vodka must be neat with no ice. Can't stand adding stuff to it.

What does scare me slightly is that I don't drink as much as i did in my twenty's and I drink too much now.

I rarely drink alcohol, only on special occasions really. I think it's shocking how much people drink on a regular basic mowadays, constantly out and getting pissed is not my idea of a fun night to be honest. I don't even like to think about how many calories in just alcohol people are drinking every weekend  The last time I had alcohol was about a month ago, and it was only a glass of wine.

Mrluvaluva
14-05-2007, 11:20 AM
Haha. I drink vodka, lime and lemonade. I can't drink pints any more as it just bloats me. I smoke to, and the more I drink, the more I smoke. And I have had a few lock ins too! I remember once leaving a pub near work at 6.00 am after going there after work the night before. I was in there for approx 12 hours! I went back to work, had a couple of hours kip on the couch, and then started work. I was like a zombie though for the whole day.

I used to drink loads, I'd start out at the local drink maybe 3 glasses of wine, them move on into town and have more, maybe switch to beer then off to a club and down more and more plus shots of tequila, absinth etc..... the next day was very very messy.

I once played pop-up-priate, as a drinking game, if you made pete pop up then you drank. I have managed 13 large shots of tequila this way.

One time we played with a dodgy drink some bought back from holiday that had two dead gecko's in it....yuck....I passed on that game but I got the guy that drank the gecko juice on camera..... he went green very very quickly and then headed offto the toilet.

Now I dont drinkmuch at all.... well I dont know as I am up the duff

It's the best way Dan_:thumbs:

I look forward to the blanket-ban and it will be lovely for a non-smoker to walk into a pub and be able to breathe in fresh air.

I know a couple who told me that they will start going to the pub more, as they will be happy to leave the place and not have their clothes stink of smoke, or end up with a sore throat.

Anyway, this topic is more about "Drink", (unless I alter the topic title:laugh:)

I think that Drinking is great and it is harmless, unless you really drink excessively and on a regular basis.

We all get times when we are celebrating and you will go out with mates and drink too much on one night and probably end up in the ladies or gents and it all comes pouring out of your mouth and into the bog.

I understand that you like football Dan_:puzzled:

If you watch a great football match with mates, there is nearly always cans of lager about, quite a bit. Suddenly when a goal happens, those who have drunk a bit too much start doing some funny dance routines that should be caught on camera:laugh::laugh::laugh::wink::wink::wink:

I used to drink huge amounts every weekend in fact I was the poster child for binge drinking! I have the wonderful art of downing a pint in one down to a tee! I can sup about 8 pints now but used to be 10-12 with a few shots as well over an evening, then I realised that I could actually consume far more alcohol if I drank spirits, the only thing in pints that stopped me was the bloated feeling!

Love Vodka now and like Remy I drink it neat or with cherry coke actually I drink vodka with anything in it!

I can drink so much, once i'm drunk then i just keep going and going. I don't drink unless i'm intending on getting drunk, i drink to get drunk.

I was at a funeral the other month and went from 3PM untill 5 the next morning and somehow by the end of the night/morning felt fine and woke up the next day feeling fine.

I don't drink every week, just when i know i'm gonna be out long enough to get drunk otherwise i'd drink Lucozade all night.

My absolute limit is 5 pints of lager, or its equivalent before I'm blind drunk, usually once I get to that point I'm sick and the effects last well into the next morning - I usually need a good sleep after a hangover before I feel right again and then I just eat loads cos I'm always really sick when I'm hungover.

I can take alcopops or a couple of pints, sometimes even the one pint and a few alcopops as I'll be merry then and totally fine the next morning.

Red Moon

I use to have a friend who would drink about five pints of lager and then make himself sick so he could drink another five.

Always seemed a waste to me.

Kizwiz, talking of drinking games.

Have you ever played Roxanne? You playing to the song Roxanne by The Police.
You choose to be either a "Roxanne" or a "red light" When your group is sang by sting you have to stand up and take a big swig of your drink and then sit down. You carry on like this till the song finishes. Lots of standing up and down fast drinking fun to be had.

For those who do not know this classic song.

Anywhere between 12-16 bottles of alcopop on any given weekend. I despise the taste of vodka and I cant drink cans as fast so alcopop is ideal.

Bells
25-05-2007, 01:30 PM
I've tried loads of different types of alcohol, especially when I'm on holiday. Cider seems to get me really drunk..., and then on special occasions I have the usual wine, champagne and stuff (although some wines get me really drunk, for example at a recent friend's birthday meal).

Even if I don't mean to, normally when I drink, I get quite drunk. I can drink vodka quite easily, even easier when it's mixed in stuff, and I love cocktails! A friend of mine had about 15 alcopops one night - I've never tried that and don't think I will anytime soon, but I think the most I've had in one night is about 8. You've got some who can drink constantly and not get drunk, but for me it depends really. I think I've been properly hungover about three times.

When I went to Majorca some years back, they tended to just pour the Vodka or Whiskey out into the glass, without the single or double measure that we see in pubs over here.

Optics rule okay..

But over there, you can end up having triple, quadruple measures and you think you can manage many drinks, but then you become very drunk or sick:yuk:

Finnaly willed myself to drink vodka the other night. Had 6 cans of some **** called druid with that. 8% cider. T'was my second experience of being so drunk I had no idea what I was doing [very harrowing] , all I remember is singing 'piece of sky' by the wonderstuff while walking home.

Needles to say , it sprouted one of those classic 'never gonna drink again' moments.

i could drink before i had my son - i used to be one of these out friday night, sat night and then all day sunday (i would take it easy though at first) now i think 5 pints of strongbow and im there (classy chick i am) - i then go on vodka with cherry juice or lime and soda - then prob home @ 1.00 all tucked up in bed.

Thats bad seeing as im half scotish
