Pete Burns fears for BB8 stars

Pete Burns has warned that Big Brother 8 housemates could end up "damaged" because of the show.

The former Dead or Alive singer, who appeared on Celebrity Big Brother 4, explained that the producers' mind games can be hard to handle and contestants will be left disappointed when they do not find lasting fame from the programme.

"I wish the new housemates all the luck in the world. But I fear they'll end up damaged," Pete told the Daily Star. "Everyone is obsessed with becoming a celebrity these days. It used to be said that everyone should enjoy 15 minutes of fame. These days you are famous in 15 minutes. And it doesn't last.

"I don't know how these people can stay in that house for 13 weeks. They deprive you of sleep in that place and it can send you crazy."

Celebrity Big Brother star Pete Burns has warned the next batch of wannabes about to enter the house: Big Brother is bad for your health.

The cosmetically-enhanced Dead Or Alive singer, who appeared on Celebrity Big Brother last year, claims that housemates set for Big Brother 8 could end up 'damaged' by the reality TV show, according to the Daily Star.

He said: "I wish the new housemates all the luck in the world. But I fear they'll end up damaged."

And the outspoken cross-dresser believes that their fame won't last. "It used to be said that everyone should enjoy 15 minutes of fame.

"These days you are famous in 15 minutes. And it doesn't last."

Despite making it to the final of Celebrity Big Brother, Pete said he'd never do it again because it messed with his head.

He said: "I don't know how these people can stay in that house for 13 weeks.

"They deprive you of sleep in that place and it can send you crazy."

Big Brother 8 kicks off on C4 on Friday, June 1.

I think most housemates are aware that they could be portrayed as something they are not or could end up with it messing with there heads but they seem to want the "fame" and don't think to much about the effects of the show.
