A lot of gay actors, politicians or people in the public eye were fair game back then and were constantly threatened and blackmailed for votes or money or would be outed and lose their jobs and face public humiliation.

Sad it still exists today mostly in the acting and sporting world.

Oh I see. Thanks. It would have been good if she'd explained her view on legalization a bit further because leaving it at that kind of suggests that might be her only reason for wanting it legalised/without it she'd have been in favour of it remaining illegal :/
