Says it all really.

If she had been smart she would have looked at the top 10 names popular in the year of her birth (below) but instead the attention seeker went with a "celeb" name like India (amazed she did not call herself Harper). You have to work hard to be accepted if you are different and calling yourself a silly name isnt helping. (admittedly its one of my daughters middle name but then she is 52 or whatever)

if you are different - you get called allot of names - mostly not the one you name yourself - just saying.

What’s with naming people after countries anyway.
Might change my name to Japan or Finland

I also doubt very much she's 52.

Doubt you'd get much change out of 60 at least.

There is so much to criticize India for that their name seems so...petty. A name is a name.

I can't get over how India looks literally exactly the same as Jonathon. I know they are the same person, but seeing them side by side like that is so weird

I've always known what my mum would have called me if I were a girl and if I were trans I'd probably take that name; maybe her mum really would have called her India, and the "takeaway" thing was just a joke?

I doubt that very much ,India wasn't a popular girls name all those years ago

There are non-popular names now which are still given out.

I have to be kind of fair to her here, as her name has obviously changed and it would be noticeable anyway, she made a joke out of it. It was pretty obviously a joke to me.

The name is the least of my problems with her. She is entitled to call herself anything she wants. I actually like the name India. But she is a diva and so volatile and a huge HUGE letdown. I quite liked her one night one

...I’ve been reading up a bit about her as I hadn’t known her at all before she went into the house...when she was leading a ‘double life’ as Jonathan, she chose Joanne Charles as her female name but then after her surgery she chose India because she felt her own identity struggles for her identified with struggles of India as a country in its identity...(India’s explanation, just to clarify..)....

She could have called herself Transzania after Tanzania, I think it is very fitting.

Or as I read somewhere, she didn't like being called a he, what would she do if she was called Pakistan.
