Delta Goodrem is set to be the face of Alternative Hair, the UK hairdressing industry's top fundraising event, in aid of cancer charity Leukaemia Research. This year is the 25th anniversary of the Alternative Hair Show and to celebrate this momentous occasion Delta hopes to be performing live at the show, on Sunday 14 October at the Royal Albert Hall, London.

Delta is passionate about supporting Leukaemia Research and their work into improving treatments, finding cures and preventing blood cancers because she was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2003, when she was 18.
"When I was diagnosed I just went into shock. I was literally shaking, I couldn't take it in. Even though it does happen to younger people, you just never ever imagine it will happen to you.
"I was lucky - I survived. But there are people who don't and for every one of them, there are dozens, hundreds of others who are touched by the same suffering," Delta said.
The Alternative Hair Show has raised almost £6million to fund research into leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma - all types of blood cancer that affect 110,000 people in the UK every year.
"The research really is making a difference. If I can use what happened to me to help raise money to stop it happening to someone else, then I've got to do it. I'm delighted to be involved with Alternative Hair and am looking forward to performing at the show."
The show is the brainchild of hairdresser Tony Rizzo of Sanrizz salons, who lost his three-year-old son, Valentino, to leukaemia in May 1983.
The Alternative Hair Show is on Sunday 14 October at the Royal Albert Hall. To find out more or to make a donation visit www.deltacharity.com.
