I wonder if the prospect of protests played a role in the decision. It's a bit of a shame if the leader of one of our biggest allies can't visit just because some morons want to throw things.

Got to feel sorry for Owen Jones, he was looking forward to this protest.

Good news, we should not entertain maniacs.

Excellent spin, there.

He's gutless, like all bullies. He'd have got a worse reception than the Chinese. Part of me is sorry he won't get to experience that. I think he's spiralling out of control.

Good!

I would've been one of the people to turn up at a *peaceful* protest as is my democratic right.

Also the embassy was sold 3 months before Obama ascended to power so it was the Bush administration who sold it for 'peanuts'

jokes on him :hehe:

Trump criticises Obama every chance he gets, which in my view means he is eaten up with jealously of him.

I bet he really can't stand the prospect of coming to London and not getting a wonderful, joyous reception as befits the big I AM, The Donald, the POTUS.
But it's all Obama's fault (even though it actually isn't) .

...I’m sure there was much to say and many opinion about him coming but only 12 posts about his decision to cancel...so I guess that tells him his visit here wasn’t really Of much public interest or enthusiasm anyway...

I'd imagine that's a huge part of it, tbh.

Obama was a very popular president internationally and Trump would never be able to match that popularity which dents his fragile ego, I'm sure.
