Did you buy his poor me :bawling: DR moment ? Or like myself, did you see right through his silly croc tears, knowing it's just a desperate move(no doubt with plenty room for more) from someone who is trying his damndest to make people forgive/forget his disgusting rape "joke" ?

The thing about grief is you can be absolutely fine and then out of nowhere a memory is triggered which seems to have happened here. I found it very genuine

And that is recent if you have lost a parent so young

Two years is a long time, in my mind 'recent' is 6 months max

Although he is perfectly entitled to be upset of course I was just putting you right :hee:

Sure, but that's why it would have been more believable if he had his "moment" where it "came upon him". His reasoning for rushing to the DR didn't make sense. The hidden reason is that his fellow patients aren't the ones who need the most convincing.. which is undoubtedly why he dragged his little show in front of the viewers.

Was he crying for his Dad?? . If so fair enough . I think that's the only time he shows sensitivity though.

He claimed to be crying for his dad but it simply wasn't genuine. Just a desperate attempt to become liked and garner sympathy votes.

I can't comment as I haven't watched it . But it would be pretty sick for him to use his dead dad as sympathy :nono:.

Why haven't you watched?

Anyway, I don't see that it's "sick" to do this type of thing. It just highlights the person's desperation. In his mind he won't be using his father's memory in any sick way(since he most likely did love him and does miss him) .. he's simply dialling into his sadness at a time of convenience. But as you'll see if/when you watch it, when something like this is forced rather than happening naturally, it doesn't come across well.

Speaking of father's, it reminded me of this haunting classic sang by The Boss (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aINKxgksisA)

My mother cried(genuinely!) when I allowed her to listen to it on my mp3 player..

You're doing a very good job of stating your opinions as though they are facts. You shouldn't be too arrogant in claiming that you know people, especially when nobody else agrees with you.

I know what you're saying , well Daniel is playing a game.

But if it's not that long ago since his dad died he'll still be choked up about it surely:shrug:. Plus you never get over a loved ones death.

But who knows with Daniel.

I can and will state my "opinions" any way I please. And even if "nobody agrees" with them(which, ironically is an arrogant lie in this case..) or has me in the minority, it doesn't make them any less valid("factual")

Seeing as how you threw the fact my opinions were fact onto me, I figured you'd understand why I had that word in-between " "

Obviously too busy being arrogant to keep up.

Agreed.. . When I lost my mum after the initial grief I rarely cried for 18 months. Its now been over 3 years but recently a lady came into my office wearing the same perfume as my mum wore and it devastated me, I was fine before and after but for that moment my grief was as raw as if it had been yesterday.

Cannot stand the guy, but not understanding why people are ripping into him for crying over his fathers death which was only a year or two ago tbh.

I have pretty much no empathy at all..but I know that the death of a parent would affect most people for a very long time. My mother still has random crying outbursts about my grandma, and she died like 10 years back now

People are a right mess on this site, how sad do you have to be to rip into someone for crying, I understand that people are biased against certain housemates, but ffs, if you're gonna hate on a HM then pick a better reason.

He seemed fake to me, just trying to get some camera time acting sympathetic (as opposed to all the camera time he gets when he hasn't run to the diary time for it... on those occasions when he's asking the other men to name which woman he most wants to have a one-night-stand with, etc.)

Seemed real to me. My dad died over 5 years ago and things still trigger off my tears unexpectedly.

He doesn't seem the 'fake it' type.

As for the rape joke, there was a bit more background on that (which he explained). I heard a pretty gross rape comment/joke by Jimmy Carr in Greenwich Comedy Club - hasn't done his career any harm.

I like Daniel. He would be my friend in there, I'm sure. Slightly warped and brash humour. Not my fave, but I'd hate him to go yet.

Is there really a "fake it" type? None of these people are beyond doing whatever is necessary to promote themselves for future gigs. I don't think people fully understand the desperation of these people.
