Saw it this evening. It was very good and quite powerful.
Left me feeling quite emotional because lots of it is so relatable.

Watchedit on its release (Thursday?) and really loved it. Suitable for all ages despite moderate bad language towards the end and I'd recommend showing it in schools because it's very well told and executed.

Went to see it on Monday with a friend. The dialogue was a bit cringe and at times it felt a bit more like an episode for a new teen series but it was a cute movie and I was invested. Also I really enjoyed how it was a gay movie thats not about forbidden love.

Hmmm, is this an agenda to make our cinemas gay?

I liked it but the book was better. The dialogue feels a bit painful at times but the performances tend to sell it quite well.
[spoiler]I think some of the pointless changes from the book dampened my feelings towards the film. Having Simon's friends find out about him being blackmailed and abandoning him for it straight after he had been outed was a terrible change which just ruined their characters for me, especially when they ignore him when he's being bullied. It's just a really crap change that almost ruined the film for me since I couldn't buy into their friendship after that.
Having Leah be in love with Simon was just not needed either.[spoiler]
I'd give it a 7/10, might be more favourable to it in time. I do think it's a film that all parents should watch though since it really does nail the emotional side of coming out exceptionally well.

I might be wrong, but my guess is it wasn't as popular as ''Call me by your name.'' That film is quite similar to Love, Simon.
I think Love, Simon wasn't marketed as much as CMBYN. I only heard about this film a year ago. That's my guess tho, It definitely should've been nominated for a couple of Oscars
