View Full Version : Grown men sexually mocking a 70 year old woman

I thought their refences towards Ann and sexual practices that she may or may not have happen in the past was as low as they could go.
Did Dapper think it was funny? Genuwine creasing himself with laughing over it.
Dapper and Genuwine are crass individuals living up to their past reputations as disgusting and lewd.
When Ann sees this, how is she going to feel? She doesn't deserve this at all.

Crossed the line for me.
It's one thing if you don't feel you need to respect someone but it's another to show such crude disrespect to a 70 year old virgin.
Disgusting:fist:

I don't think she'll care tbh, I think they'll be the ones who'll be embarrassed watching it back  Daniel should be thanking Ann, he's safe because of her AND she took a bullet taking control of the replace nomination. She deserves his respect for that, not just for being a 70 yr old woman.

Oh, I think Ann's heard a lot worse than this - and from more intelligent people in the past. She's got thick rhinoceros skin, so I doubt she'll give a flying fig, tbh. lol

It must hurt her as a woman though. She may take on all comers politically but this was very crude and personal.
Would Dapper like his Nan discussed in this way by a crude comedian for cheap laughs in front of millions of viewers.
This after Ann agreed to his immunity. Shows this man is surely the dregs.

I thought it was hilarious as did every single other person in the living room when Daniel made the joke.
A lot of prudish comments on this forum tonight when this is very tame for cbb imo tonight's episode was the perfect mix of laughter, relationships and extreme tension.
Hope it stays like this after tonight's task the dynamics have truly changed for the better.
All we need now is to get jon and Maggie out and the next few weeks could be amazing.

Hardly fair though was it?
Ann had a lot to do with the change in the group dynamics change for the better only to be sexually ridiculed by these two oafs.
I am all for humour, but mocking an old lady for a cheap laugh over her imagined sexual behaviour is not funny or warranted.

I'm a big fan of Ann 100%
But i also thought it was fine for Dan to make that joke tonight.
It's the kind of naughty joke you hear on BB and on BOTS all the time.
Dirty jokes make the world go round. Much better to be free to make them than to live in fear of censorship all the time.
While Ann herself would of course find it crude and vulgar etc, she would NEVER dream of taking away people's rights to make crude jokes.
Defending freedom of speech means defending people's right to be offensive, even when it disgusts and offends you. That's the game.

Yes the two twats and Ashley who would laugh at anything Genuwine found funny. Do you honestly think Ashley would have found it funny if it was directed at her?
As you can read, there are many who take the opposite view to yours and your nans, it wasn't necessary or decent.

If the dirty joke was general about others, then your point is correct.
But it wasn't, it was personal and aimed to humiliate Ann in front of two idiots and millions of viewers.
There is a difference.

Am I the only one who didn't take offence :hehe: It was just warped humour. I am sure Daniel will regret opening his mouth, but he just has that humour where your mouth works quicker than your brain and even though it's funny with your mates, maybe X-million watching might not find it funny.

You have seen Ann's response to Andrews attempt to draw her into waxing his backside which she did not appreciate because she said it was aimed to embarrass and humiliate her.
Therefore, it is more likely that she would feel even stronger against this slur.
Because it may not offend someone else does not mean it would not offend her.
If you look up the definition of banter, it means playful teasing between two people. This was a sleazy put down when one party was not present which was meant to humiliate. This towards an elderly lady who has standards which matter to her.
You may not agree with her politics but she reached a place in the government of this land something far greater than this foul mouth with his sewer so called jokes which demean women.
These are no snowflakes but strong women saying if you demean women with jokes like these, you face consequences. I hope they chuck him out, see how funny he finds that.

It seems that the general consensus floats between "don't care" and "she can take it". Let's turn it round and imagine they were talking about India... or Courtney... God forbid anyone should laugh at them. But Ann's fair game.
Ridiculous double standards.

I've worked with men a lot... and I have more male friends than female. This is not typical of male behaviour, I know... not real men. And it saddens me when people are condoning it.
On the first night I kind of took to Daniel. He had a lot to say about how he had made a mistake and regretted it etc. etc. It didn't take him long to show the world he actually is an arsehole completely beyond redemption.

Having seen the fall out today in the social media and press, it seems that the consensus has now turned into outrage towards Daniel.
There are many decent people who don't feel the need to speak up unless there is something needed to be said and it is what they are now doing.
All Daniel wants is to shock and be known for his notoriety, whatever he says to the difference. All he wants, as do the other nonentities in there is to push boundaries to make him get noticed and if an elderly 70 year old women gets hurt then she is collateral damage.
Ann is a human being who values her standards, morals and religion, but she still is a woman with feelings which can be hurt by these sick remarks about her past.

To be fair it was disrespectful, it's not like it was a clean joke I'll say that, but in the end it is still just an off-the-cuff joke that he didn't mean seriously or hurtfully and people shouldn't take so seriously & personally. It's really not that bad at all and Ann wouldn't care as long as she's not around to hear it / see it, it's what she's said herself. Plus Daniel felt bad about it afterwards but he's a joker and jokes just fly out of his mouth without a filter. Jokers gonna joke. :joker:

Of course she will either watch it or be told about it. It is out there and has been picked up in the press.
Inane remarks regarding politics or currents affairs are how you describe but a exceedingly personal sexual innuendo about a religious single lady of 70 years of age is a very different case.

You are not thinking it through from Anne's perspective. It might not matter to you or someone in different circumstances or religious leanings.
Ann is an elderly woman who does not invite her personal space invaded or indeed her personal life intruded upon. Therefore unwarranted personal sexual references would be abhorrent to her.

Maybe but she's pretty tough and has spent her life in a role where she has been subjected to serious criticism and often abuse - she will have heard much worse. I imagine that she would be offended by it but also that she won't dwell on it for more than a couple of minutes at most

She wouldn't have been subjected to the same sort of sexual abuse in her work role or she could have taken it further.
Serious criticism about her political career, Yes, she would have not bothered about, sexual matters about her private life are a very different matter
