i think everyone who watches drag race is used to calling her (ANY queen) a she, as that's the 'done thing' on drag race. everyone is labelled by her drag name + called she, not he.

Exactly lol and that’s why India reacts so negatively to drag queens

She sees it as them trivialising transgender issues, albeit maybe inadvertently. People will look at Shane and think it’s the same thing as India. Shane dresses up every now and then for fun, India spent 50 years believing she was in the wrong body (which is a worse feeling than you think, just look at transgender suicide rates)

If ShaneJ is cool about being called he/she whenever, that’s different from someone who is trans. Which ShaneJ isn’t. I think India did have a valid point that many people still see the two being connected, when actually they are very different. Trans people are not putting on a “show.” It’s their lives.
