Welcome to Underscore's RuPaul Drag Race First Watch Thread!

I'm going to document here my first time watching Ru Paul's Drag Race! I've started this a bit late because I've been watching Season 2 and not been doing this but can I just SAY Jujubee should have won! Her crown was stolen :fist:

Series 3 - Episode 1

This episode was all about the casting so I skipped the bits that weren't relevant to the newcomers. For me this episode was all about getting first impressions and this cast seems good. Not as good as the year before, but there are definitely some gems such as Raja, Mimi and Yara. There are quite a lot of boring ones too.

Now here are some quick and short comments I have written down:

Raja - I absolutely love ha to pieces so far she seems a real strong one.
Mimi - She's bitchy and I LIKE it.
Yara - She seems sassy.
Manila - She seems nice but also she is going out with SAHARA!
Alexis - Ok.
Delta - "
Shangela - "
Venus - "
Mariah - Enough of the South, Ru Paul!
Phoenix - Mediocre
India - Yawn
Stacy - Cringy. Get her out.
Carmen - Didn't really like her on her VT. Can't see it changing.

Series 3 - Episode 2


Ok, so this has been an amazing first episode. I loved the entire theme of winter wonderland, as well as them having to find their fabrics and materials in a thrift shop. It has really tested their skill at crafting their own outfits and put them to the test.

In terms of drama this has been quite a quiet episode, but there have been a few underlying sassy comments going on (such as with the glue gun and Phoenix stealing Venus's ideas) which have sparked entertainment in some otherwise quite boring scenes.

Overall I'd give this episode 6/10. A bit boring, and I nearly fell asleep but that's because I've had a bottle of wine and it's bed time :joker:

In terms of my rankings, this episode has changed it up quite a lot.

Season 3 is a bit of a drag (pun slightly intended) because it's such a long season and it could do with 2 or 3 less episodes but the next 3 seasons you've got coming up are probabaly the best 3

Ok, so this episode was interesting. I liked the entire SciFi theme and the adverts and whatnot. Wasn't too keen on most of the outfits but there you are :joker:

Phoenix managed to piss me off again, so I'm glad that she is finally gone.

Giving this episode a strong 7/10.

Series 3: Episode 4

Well can I just say this episode has had the best theme so far. The whole leotard exercise style theme just knocked me off my perch :joker:. Delta choking on her chicken partly made it!

Tbh I found the part where Mimi picked up India to be funny.

This is the first episode where I watched Untucked and wow Raja has been portrayed to be quite a bitch, but she still slays.

I just LOVED this episode. Something a bit different, a main focus on the hair was a breath of fresh air and there was some AMAZING creations!

Yara was also a wheeze and so she's my new favourite but DEVASTATED Shangela is gone :bawling:

Ok so I kinda rushed through this episode and cut out the boring **** but I really liked the whole idea of turning some jocks into drag queens. Similar idea to last season where they turned older men into drag queens. Really brings that upturn needed when the series is starting to drag.

Really didn't know why Carmen was brought back, but thank god she's been eliminated.

I can't believe it's over! What an amazing series. Don't think it beat Series 2 but it's still been an enjoyable one. Been a bit of a drag because I've only watched two episodes a day but Series 4 should go much quicker.

I have mixed reactions for Raja winning. She deserved it, her goals and activism are great, but her personality quite frankly was **** and a Heather winning, was ****.

I give this series 7/10

Series 4: Episode 1

Ok, so this episode was a SCREAM. The best first episode to a series thus far. Lots of reappearances such as with Shangela and queens such as Delta Work and Pandora Boxx coming back as zombies :skull:

The whole apocalyptic theme was amazing too.

Already a solid 9/10 series.

Ok, so this boxing episode was a SCREAM and it has been the best episode in a long time if not the best episode I've watched so far.

The fake fights inbetween the boxing matches was so funny too :joker:

Series 4: Episode 3

A major comedown episode from last episode. Was good, with some funny parts especially with the finished green screen effect.

Can I just say though the lip sync was AMAZING (on Dida's behalf).

I also watched Untucked this episode which has changed my ranking a fair bit.

LOVED the theme of this prison sitcom.

But once again I'm enjoying Untucked more than the actual episode :joker:

Great lie detector theme at the start, then ingenious idea at pairing them up. Then finally the shock twist with Willam being ejected :hehe:

Wow, what a great set of queens!

In terms of the tasks, this was a good episode. Same old feeling to it in terms of going out to get clothing items etc. The clothes were nice. And there was some drama!

I was changing my list up and down throughout the episode, it's amazing how at the start Detox and Roxxxy were my top two then managed to fall as the episode went on :wavey:

Okay so I bit the bullet and watched through the rest of Series 6 today. Can I just say this years cast has been amazing and has produced one of the best or if not the best RPDR series to date.
